I'm listing my 97 SHO for sale for $800, which is what a local junk yard has offered. I'd prefer to see it go to someone that will use it than to a junk yard. Strong running engine with a very low mileage new SARC suspension.

It has 129,822 miles, is in need of a transmission rebuild and has been sitting since 2009. Once a month I start the car up, bring it up to temp, and move it from the back yard to the front portion of our driveway, then move it back a day or two later.

The cams were welded by John Stoessel in 2008 at 93,247 miles. John also installed a trans cooler, upgraded headlight harness, flushed the power steering and trans, cleaned the surge tank, tested the coils and cleaned the intake butterflies. I purchased this car in 2001 and have changed the oil every 4,000-5,000 miles with Mobil 1.

Per CARFAX this is a 3 owner car with the first owner being Ford Corporate, second as a lease, then I picked it up in 2001 with 58,969 miles. No accidents listed, and none under my ownership.

The car is currently non-op'd (since Oct 2009) and I had planned to replace the tranny but other projects and life got in the way so I need to get rid of the car (in other words, wife says it's been sitting around too long). It starts quick and runs well, can slowly move under it's own power but the trans slips badly.

The Good:
Welded cams
SARC suspension replaced with a new SARC suspension at 122,980 miles
Adjustable rear control arms put on with SACR suspension
SHO Shop lowering springs
SHO Shop 3rd cat delete

The Bad:
Been sitting, the clear coat on the front bumper cover is peeling
A few spots on the front bumper cover just below the hood are losing paint
Interior intact, but needs a good cleaning
Dash has separated above the gauges while sitting, needs to be glued
Two door dings on the left quarter panel, small
Small dings to the rear bumper on either side of license plate
Transmission needs to be replaced
Dead battery, car is started using a spare battery or jumped
Headlights have begun to get hazy while it sits
Driver's seat left bolster has typical wear
IMRC cable snapped, butterflies are wired open
Lower front valance has scratches (I have a new, unpainted valance for the car)

The car is located in Southern California near Riverside. Any questions, or more pics needed send me an email [email protected]

There's no interest in the whole car, so I wanted to see if anyone wanted a very low mileage SARC suspension with SHO Shop lowering springs? I'd need your old struts, $400 with replacement struts plus shipping unless someone local is interested.

Can the car be driven to Washington in its current state?

Unfortunately no, the trans slips. I only move it about 50 feet from the side yard to the front once a month. Its usually parked out front for a few days then I wash it and put it back in the side yard. Its not all that happy to even move that far.

Thanks. There's a 96 being parted out by a local garage, allegedly it has a rebuilt trans with 100 miles on it. I'm going to see what they want for it. Even if I swap out the trans the SHO will still have to go, it'll just be worth a little more than $800.

I know this is an old sale thread, but I still have the car. I had a buyer a long time ago, and a few here interested in the suspension only. The buyer dropped off a $200 deposit, then I never heard from him again. I've given him almost two years and can't get in touch with him, so his loss.

I'd really like to get rid of the whole car. Since I already got some money for it, if anyone in Southern California, or elsewhere is interested, $500, you pick up or arrange shipping. The only thing that's changed from the original post and pictures is I removed the Stoessel installed aftermarket headlight harness and bulbs. I do not have the original harness anymore. Car still has a very low mileage SARC suspension with SHO Shop lowering springs. I also found SHO shop's "cold air" intake that I removed several years ago, and the correct Colgan bra that will go with the car. Also, I started the car last week to move it (it moves twice a month) and its running rough. Judging from the rat crap under the hood, my guess is a rat chewed some wiring but I haven't looked into it further yet.

If there are no takers in the next week or so, the car will either be going to a local Pick a Part or Ecology as they'll pay the most. If it heads to a junk yard I'll post up where it went for any interested in parts.

The email address in my first post is the same, and is the easiest way to contact me.

Just saw this post perhaps too late but I'm in SoCal. I would like to buy this if you still have it. Thanks
