Ok, Im getting ready to pull the engine in my 94 ATX. Anyone know if I can do it without breaking the two apart?

Ive heard the out the top and out the bottom stories, Which will work best for me.

And how much do I need to pull off the motor to get it out? Front of the engine wise.

Can I leave the alt/Waterpump/pulleys on? or should they all come off?

Thank you all

BTW perhaps Ill just take a sawzall to the frame...

I have seen it done with Engine hangers. When Chuck pulled my tranny he lifted the Engine, put a tranny support under (Yep you guess it )the tranny and pulled the subframe out and wheeled the tranny out from under the car. This was all done on a lift of course. I am sure from there you can hook up the the engine to a pulley and lift it out.

You can pull both the ATX and the engine together if you drop the subframe out the bottom. We did this a few weekends ago. I will e-mail you some pics. Let me know if you have any questions. Just look out for those subframe bolts if they have not be recalled. They are a (*#^$()#

I have a 30mm socket, i live in Newpot RI, used to live in north attleboro, and that is where my garage is, but the socket is in RI because i thought i would need it when i upgraded to 96 brakes.

car is 90% prepped though.

Its pretty sad to see so little of the car left.

Anyone in NE have the 30mm Socket to remove the front axles?
