My car has a lot of play in the steering wheel. It seems like even having the wheel cranked all the way over the car can't turn that much. Also, going above 55 mph the front end starts to shake, and if you go past 75-80 mph the cars front end shakes pretty aggressively! I thought the wheels might have been off balance so I took it to discount tire and they said it might be the tie rods. He jacked the car up and noticed a lot of play in both tires, moving the tires left to right. sound like tie rods to you guys..?

Sounds like tie rod ends for sure. But also for the steering wheel check this: with the key in and wheel unlock but engine off, see how much play there is in the steering wheel before the tires start to move. I had almost 2 inches of dead play and Les Shwab wouldnt do an alignment. If you remove the steering column rubber boot cover just behind your pedals(like 3 or 4 nuts) there is a bolt back there on the shaft that works loose over time. Be friggin careful tightening it, if you shear it your having a bad day, but i tightened my almost 3/4 a turn and it took almost all the play out of my steering wheel. Thats my opinion. And i popped out my drivers seat cuz i dont fit too well down in there, makes it alot easier!
