OK well im working on my friends 91+. the problem is it will lock by pressing the 7/8 and 9/0 from the door but will not lock from inside of the car on either door. it will unlock from inside but will not unlock from the code on door. i checked the fuses there all good. swapped the code control box in the trunk still nothing. all the lights light up on door code when you press any button. any help will be nice will try just about anything cause i have no idea now

Wrong code and bad switches? I'm sure you tried the code that was printed on the outside of the keyless module...

Or a wiring issue, but there are a lot of wires to try and trouble shoot.

So neither inside door switches lock, but both unlock? Has that been the case since interior swap(assuming this is Jeremiahs Old one?), what about before that? Prob don't know, right? Maybe try swapping door switchs with known good.

Code might be part of prob, but doesn't matter for switches inside, not supposed to anyway. Does it have the elec. trunk? if so, have you tried to open using the code/keypad? Would help verify if code is working.

Yea it's is Jers old one don't know it they worked before and don't have Gen 1 door lock switches laying around. Idk if it has a elec trunk will have to look BUT if it does and I run the code and it don't pop it then I'm going to say it's the number pad and dont have one of them laying around to try either

I'm guessing some kind of wiring/connection issue with/between one or more components in the drivers door. something loose, missing, crossed, etc. maybe the pad, but not sure if that alone would cause this. For the heck of it unplug the module and see if the doors lock with inside switches.

I have atleast one spare of everything door related from an '89 including keypad you could use to test, but not sure how easy I could find them right now. Wouldn't help much anyway with you being so close by and all.

When my 91 quit working, it was a broken wire on the back side of the key pad. I would check there.
