anyone ever tried to fit a 225-55-17 tire on a SHO? is it too tall?

Ive ran 225/55r16, but not 17's. Is there a specific reason you want to go with a 55 in a 17. Most the time I go with a lower profile on a larger rim. Maybe a 50 or 45.

just a different tire selection at my local distributor for that size(price)

I pulled the trigger and got some nitto 555's, 235-45-17 for 89 a piece delivered

A 225/50-17 tire is a closer to the standard tire diameter, so less chance of speedo issues. I don't know about Gen 2s, but the 225/55-17 will cause contact issues on a Gen1.

I have 225/50 and 235/45 on my cars. 55 on a 17 is too tall IMO. Depending on ride height and wheels I dont think you will have issues.
