Not that I know of. Wife works at a Lincoln dealer and they have been told no MKS of any kind for 2017. I believe that goes for the civilian Taurus as well.

From what I understand, there will be a new Taurus in 2017 available only in China. Maybe we will see that come here in 2018? Only speculation for now.

The US Taurus and SHO carry on for 2017 with only minor changes. The Chinese version, of course, is completely different and is not coming to the US - at least not for awhile. There seems to be 2 schools of thought:

1. The current Taurus will carry on for another couple of years and be replaced by a vehicle on an all-new platform - not the Chinese version.
or
2. The Taurus will carry on for another year or two and then be killed and not replaced at all.

Of course, another option would be to begin building the Chinese version at the Flat Rock Plant at some point and sell it here. Based on what I am hearing, that doesn't seem to be as likely.

Do it looks like only the MKS and the Taurus are on the D3 platform. I'm guessing the push is to replace that platform. With the D4? Or something else entirely?

I hope Ford learned from last time and doesn't retire the Taurus badge.

I agree, Devin. I hope the Taurus nameplate remains. I have heard the new platform referred to as CD6. Supposedly, it is a flexible platform that would allow rear wheel drive, front wheel drive or AWD. The rumor that I have heard is that there will be RWD Lincoln at some point that uses that platform and that it could be used for the Taurus as well as some other models at some point.

CD6. Interesting. According to Wikipedia, CD3 is the midsize class, so I wonder if that means the replacement for the current D Taurus would be moving back to Midsize? At that point I guess they would have to choose between the Fusion and the Taurus (and maybe undo the F-naming scheme thing they started).

Another potential could be that they continue with the PI and Ford Performance picks up the SHO moniker offering that model exclusively via a limited retail market.

Previous timelines:
The MKS was unveiled in 2008 as a 2009 model. In early 2009 the 2010 Taurus was introduced.
The Continental was first shown last Fall, 2015 as a 2017 model. My guess is that the new Taurus will be introduced next summer as a 2018 model.

I would really be surprised if Ford does not get a updated version of the Continental platform. Lincoln isn't of high enough volume yet to pay for the R&D cost alone.

Ford will not abandon the full size car market to Chevy, Dodge, and the Euro brands.

In Alaska I saw the chines version of the Taurus last year. Only thing I really like about it is the turn **** drive select.
