I gotten my SHO in January and I've been loving it since, traded in a 06 Civic for this beast. This isn't my first Taurus and will probably be my last since Ford announced they're stopping production on most of their cars. My SHO is currently at Ford getting the fuel pump recall fixed. So far it has 38k on the dash anything I should be looking out for now or for the future of the life on this car? This car is completely stock and probably gonna stay that way I have no desire to mod it just probably going to change the thermostat to a 170degree. I'll post some pics of it after it comes back from the shop. Is this forum usually quite active or is there any other forums out there? I work for a sign shop so I can get some SHO decal printed or even our own forum custom logo if anyone will be interested.

I use this forum and the Ecoboost forum too. This one is pretty active and the members are really knowledgeable and helpful. And I haven't had any problems getting help or advice.

Post some pics of the SHO and ideas for signage or decals. I'm sure someone else will have ideas too.

And welcome to the SHO forum.

Any idea how much a shop would charge? I don't have a garage or any tools to do it myself.

Picked up my 14 last June and it flipped over to 32,000 miles on my way home with it. Still gotta get that fuel pump recall taken care of :/. If your rear window shade rattles there's a TSB for that. Gotta see if my local dealer will help me out with that now that the factory warranty is spent. I've put 14k on it since last June and I've loved every minute of it. Traded a 2012 accord for it. I'll never be able to drive a 4 cylinder with a smile on my face ever again. This forum seems quite active. The most active folks on here also spend some time on the ecoboost forum. Both are a wealth of insight and information.

I have had trouble getting a shop to touch it. Even the dealers by me don't want to. One has quoted me one price on the phone($160-180 I forgot exactly) and then had the car and said it would be $400 but they don't recommend doing it. And I don't have a driveway to do it myself. I've basically given up at this point since I have an extended warranty if/when it goes. Good luck, unfortunately based on my experience you may need it. I would also be diligent with oil changes and use quality preferably synthetic oil.

You won't hurt anything running a cooler stat but I am not sure if you will get much of a benefit without a tune that alters the fan turn on/off points to go with it. I never followed coolant temps enough through OBD to know what the real difference is but I notice the dash gauge tends to stay a little lower after but never paid attention when it was just the stat with the stock tune.

I got My SHO back today, still runs great I happened to ask the dealership how much would it be to change the PTU oil. He told me $250. Thankfully when I purchase this vehicle I got the extended warranty. I'm hoping im lucky it won't go out on me. I have some tools but not enough to do this job and or a garage to do it in. I'll try and call around and see if someone will do it cheaper. Thankfully this car doesn't run hot. Does any body else SHO interior like makes cracking/cracking noise. I think the windshield got replaced before i purchase it and might be that but IDK.

What plugs do you guys use or recommend and fluids? Ill probably buy the fluids and take it in to somewhere reputable for the fluid changes, and do the plugs myself since I don't have a jack.

I ordered my plugs from Brew City Boost, pre-gaped, I checked them they all perfect an the car did need a plug change. There are easy to change BUT having done it myself I can tell you it could go south fast so take your time an be patent. Your right most any reputable shop will be able to service the PTU, and you should get it done, its one of those things that does need service no matter what the book says. As far a fluid I used the Royal Purple gear oil for the PTU, BUT truthfully I think most of the synthetic name brand oils are good enough for what we need. Congratulations I think you will enjoy the SHO there nice cars really is a shame they are not going to build them anymore.

That front diff takes about 15 quarts of Mercon L.V.

The rear diff about 2.5 pints 80-90 premium rear axle ****.
