So I assumed the caliper brackets would just be different allowing you to bolt on the 2013+ brake upgrade on the rear just like you can for the front. I ASSumed wrong. I was just going to turn down the OD of my new vented Powerstop rotors until I realized they are also too wide to fit between my new Performance Friction brake pads. I sourced everything, calipers, rotors, pads, caliper brackets using a 2016 SHO. I will try returning the rotors for non-vented 2010-2012 rotors. Or, I could return the brake pads for pads that are meant for the width of the vented rotors and turn the OD of the rotors down a bit? Or are there different calipers (wider) for the vented rotors? What gives, I thought all 2013+ SHO's had vented rear rotors and if so why are the rotors too wide? Any other options? I've had all this stuff sitting on the shelf for 6+ months now so have been backtracking making sure I ordered everything correctly from Rockauto and O, O ,O, O'Reilly.

I have NO IDEA, what went wrong. I also purchased everything from Rockauto and as far as I know the shop did not have any issues with the calipers or rotors. They said the brake booster was a real pain, but that was the only issues. I've done a ton of reading on this and never heard of this issue, its got to be a wrong part issue somewhere. Keep us posted.

I have 13+ rear rotors and calipers on my 2010. The 10-12 dust shields are too small though and such a stupid design, you can’t remove them without removing the bearing/hub assembly. I cut mine off and just won’t have a dust shield. 520816B0 37FA 415F A37E F5F63E3BD1AF

So are your rotors vented then? The ones I have are supposedly for a 2016 SHO, are vented and 13 5/8" in diameter. The old ones are non-vented and 13" in diameter.

Ya, I left my old dust shields on up front when I did the upgrade. Under certain circumstances once in a while they rattle against the rotors. Had a big WTF moment the first time that happened. It sounds exactly like a metal radiator fan hitting a metal fan shroud. Dating myself I guess....

Pretty sure I have all the right parts. I even ordered duplicate caliper brackets not knowing the new calipers came with them already and they're the same as those and the same as my old 2010-2012 ones.

Dump the supposed "dust shields"! They have nothing to do with dust! Supposedly they are heat shields. But they retain heat! We've been ditching them, per a track instructor's recommendation, for 20 years!

Looks to be almost 13-7/8 but yes the larger ones. I just sort of missed the bus on the technical data. These are R1 Concepts rotors not OEM. Being passionate about cars/trucks/motorcycles is timeless so no worries on aging yourself lol. Is this what dating yourself looks like? 365C58C0 31FA 4472 8F5D 40924998DFFB

I have no doubt you ordered the correct parts, I just don't understand why your having issues. My shop did the work so I can't say for sure there where no issues with the install but I used CQUENCE Ultimate Drilled and Slotted rotors and stock HD calipers. Is it possible they sent you the 10-12 calipers by mistake. Maybe someone did the same thing your doing and turned in the 10-12 calipers for the core.

It's an issue with both the caliper and the caliper brackets. The calipers would work on the rotors with thinner pads but the caliper brackets are wrong. And like I said, I have duplicate caliper brackets so I doubt I was sent 2 of the wrong part. I wish someone could please tell me if all 2013+ SHO's come with rear vented rotors stock. That would be a good starting point to try to figure this all out.

My 2015 had FoMoCo vented rear rotors when I did my brake job this last weekend. I am pretty sure they are OE. The replacement PowerStop were vented as well. If you go to RockAuto and select a 2013+ vehicle, you can choose the info button next to a part and often get many specifications. PowerStop lists thickness, diameter, etc. This may be helpful when comparing the product you received. Under pads, you can do the same thing and find pad thickness. Just to ask the obvious, the piston is fully retracted correct? With the integral parking brake, it is a spin in design not a compression style.

OK, so the Dynamic Friction rear calipers (PN's 331-54646/331-54647) I ordered for a 2016 SHO are the same PN's you get when you put in a 2014 SEL according to Rock Auto. Every rear rotor for a 2016 SHO is 345mm vented and every rear rotor for a 2014 SEL is 330mm non-vented. And I also did rear brakes on my wife's 2014 SEL a few months ago and they are in fact non-vented 13" (330mm) rotors just like my 2012 SHO . So the only way the same calipers would work is with different width pads for the wider 2016 SHO vented rotors and different caliper brackets for the same larger 2016 SHO 345mm vented rotors. Unless the rear hub assemblies are different on the 2013+ SHO models vs. the SE/SEL/Limited models which I find hard to believe since the difference up front is just the caliper brackets. And trying to verify the calipers and brackets I received are correct for a 2016+SHO through Rock Auto....well that looks challenging.

Whelp, it's looking like Rock Auto sent me both 2x individual caliper brackets and 2x calipers with brackets that are incorrect 8 months ago and they're still listed incorrectly. Slim to none chance they'll stand behind them now.

Resolve an issue

My name is Rica. How may I help you today?

What are the part numbers for rear calipers for this car?
Rica 20:35
We're happy to assist you here! Just to confirm you have the Except Performance Package or the Performance Package?

Please give me part numbers for both.
Rica 20:38
Fro the Except Performance Package: 331-54125 left, 331-54124 right front caliper, and for the rear caliper 31-54653 left, 331-54652 right.

Fro the performance Package front caliper 331-54131 left, 331-54130 right and the same part for the rear

OK. Rock Auto sent me PN's 331-54646 and 331-54647 for my 2016 SHO. They do not fit. They still have them listed on their website for the PN's for a 2016 SHO.
Rica 20:42
We do apologize sir but you need to contact Rock Auto for that information.

They appear to be for a 330mm non-vented rotor, not a 345mm vented rotor.

Rock Auto has your parts listed incorrectly. They are of no help. You have helped me confirm they are listed incorrectly.

What do you show for PN's 331-54646 and 331-54647?
Rica 20:46
Upon checking here the PN's 331-54646 and 331-54647 will fit for the 2017-2018 Ford Taurus. not for the Taurus SHO

Thank you so much! You may want to contact Rock Auto on this. I bought them over 8 months ago and they still have them listed incorrectly. Have a good evening.
Rica 20:48
We do apologize for that however we can't do that matter, however, you can contact them to inform your concern

Well if they're selling your product, I would think you would want them listed correctly on their website. Your choice....

There is just our distributor and we don't have any control over how they will handle their listing,

RockAuto is standing behind their mistake and taking both my calipers/brackets, two extra caliper brackets back and paying the shipping even after me having them for over 8 months. It's hard to believe they had both the Performance Friction caliper/bracket combo and the Motorcraft caliper brackets listed wrong on their site but they did. Frustrating and I wish I could get my time back but at least I can still do business with them in the future. I told them I'd put in a good word for them for them standing behind this so here it is.;)
