Hi guys!
I have a 2012 SHO with PP. 70,000 miles. I just got the GearHead Power pack(3bar map, 170 thermostat, plugs, and the tune obviously. I noticed right away the fans kicked on way earlier. But today it was very hot, about 90 degrees and somewhat humid. I was on a car cruise up in some hills. Was manually shifting between 2nd and 3rd and all the sudden the temp shot up and the high temp warning came on. I immediately stopped and got it to cool down. Just wanted to see if any of you have had this condition and what to do to help it. No coolant loss at all. No leaks. Car runs excellent. I monitored the temp with my tuner the whole way home. Going easy it was between 195 and 210, but when I’d get on it, it would spike to nearly 230 and then rapidly fall after I got out of the gas. Of course, A/C was on pretty much this whole time. I understand I am pushing the car pretty hard, but I feel as though it should not have overheated. Thanks guys!!

230 is not overheating. Manually keeping it in 2nd or 3rd and pushing it hard is going to cause you to see 220-230 especially with the AC on. But if you're just driving down the road at a normal pace and it spikes to 230 after briefly getting on it, there's definitely something wrong. You may have air in your cooling system or could have a head gasket going out.

Hi, so I had the oil analyzed just before this trip. No coolant in oil, came back perfect actually. So I’m hoping not head gasket lol. But it always shoots right back down when it spikes on the tuner(digital). But yes I think something might be up too. We’ll see. Thanks!

My 2015 will get up to 210-220 in stop and go driving in hot weather. Normally it always hovers around 190.

If you just installed the thermostat maybe the system wasn't burped properly?
So I thought of this, but I performed the Ford coolant bleed procedure a bunch of times before first driving it. Had to add about a quart(I didn’t lose too much when I did the thermostat). And then drove it about 150 miles, in a few trips, and only had to add another quart and that was it. It has remained full since, and it was full when it overheated. So I think it’s safe to say I had all the air out by the time it did that.
