2011 SHO rear lights

Just replaced the brake right in the right side taillight it was out, what do the red lenses on the trunk side of the taillights do are they taillights or brake lights and does anyone have the bulb numbers for them. Thanks in advance

'10-'12 model years do NOT illuminate.

They function as part of the entire tail light assembly if you will, but only in the aspect to provide addt'l reflectivity to autos approaching from the rear. Nothing more. Nothing less.

2013 and up this changed, not only to LED, but additionally, the entire assembly is illuminated, including the inner set of the tails, located on the trunk lid itself.

Sorry didnt see the replies thanks for the replies. I just replaced the bulbs on the trunk side so they dont illuminate on my year? Why is there even bulbs there then

I was referring to 2013+. Not sure about 2010-12 but I am assuming they do not on bpd's post.

This was bugging me, so I went into the garage to double check for myself, and YES! Lostneye is CORRECT!

The reverse lights are located on the trunk lid (or inner set of the tails assemblies). See/Refer to the pic I just snapped.

I incorrectly understood the OP's question to have been asking about the red portions of those inner tail assemblies. Those red areas alone, never lit up/or illuminated in the 10's-12's.

It's apparently a PITA. There was a company a while back offering them ready for purchase, and we did have ONE person go so far as to open up & mod the lights, but in the end, success remained elusive. He's on this forum, hopefully he sees and responds to this thread.
