Hello everyone.
My first post on the forum and I'm selling my car
The short:
Was a good running car with 2 days of CA registration left (expires 2/12/20). The car was driving great but popped Cylinder 3 spark plug a week ago, one block from my work. It'll need head work or minimally a helicoil with a new plug and coil pack.
165,000 miles.
Silver/ Grey.
Chrome wheels with 1 year old tires.
A/C and heater work.
New Left drive axle and balljoint. ~500miles.
Needs front rotors. Vibrates on heavy braking.
Oil adapter leaks bad, and temp sensor wiring needs to be looked at. (always SHO's beyond "H" but the car is fine.)
Secondary air pump occasionally works but trips the SES light.
Just got a new code for O2 sensor.
A rare bird with no sunroof, no side V8 badges or keypad entry.
I'm asking $500 obo.
The long:
I saved this SHO from the junkyard before the owner Pick n Pulled it. His camshaft sprocket broke and didn't know what to do. I paid him cash on the spot and towed it. I pulled the engine, had the cams welded, had the heads sent for a valve job and rebuilt. Enjoyed it for 6 years including 2 at college. While there, cylinder 2 spark plug popped out and did the same thing. I removed the engine again, send the head out to get the spark plug hole fixed. Machinist said another cylinder looked bad too so helicoiled a second spark plug. I can't recall which one but I suspect it is cylinder 3.
The engine was strong and the gearbox had no issues. I'm debating repairing it but I need a commuter for work and it was my commuter. I just don't have the time to pull the engine a third time.
Codes are: P0303, P0411, P0131, and P1131.
I know how rare the V8's are and I don't want to send it to a Pick n Pull where the interior will get pilfered and the rare engine components overlooked.
