We don't have a VIN or more information on Matt's car, I remember seeing the thread when he bought it. If we did have the VIN, we'd be able to add it to the list.

SHO were made in the same line as the SLO with some midnight red color so the person who enter color in the databank at this time can have made a mistake.
Especially when we know at which speed the Taurus exit the factory. Confusion with similar terms, it's the more logical explaination I found for this, but I'm not sure too.

However, Ford seems to have made 1 blue SHO according to the production sheet, why not a midnight red too... If it really existed, then we can find eventually the VIN of the blue one (with lot of work).

Very strange the 3 scrapped ones at Romulus, MI... There is something special near this city, any Ford installations ?

Few months ago, I remember that I saw a scrapped 1996 SHO in a scrapyard in Florida in Hollanderparts.com site but the his VIN wasn't wrote. However, he was the mention "purple"... Maybe it's the one in Port Richey. We can't be sure.

The entire Ford complex, including WHQ, is just up the road in Dearborn.

I'm beginning to think that the prototypes and test cars (cars produced before february 1996) are not in the 58 total... The first 7-8 Rose mist on my list produced in october and november 1995 don't have the complete 211B package (keyless entry, sunroof, EATC and JBL) and 3 of them are scrapped just beside the Ford facility...

Some (5 total, 3 in Romulus and 2 never titled) seems to have not been sold and Ford Performance Group seems to forgot them or just don't count them...? All RM on their list have the 211B package. Maybe FPG count only the cars sold to customers ?

I think it will be around 58 sold + 7/8 prototype and test cars... Somehow, our list will be more precise than the FPG sheet because we have details for each car but we will probably never have all of the total.

I'm not sure how to consider the #45 ? Unknown or active (nothing since 2005...) ?

With all the VINs I have, I can start a Charcoal registry. Is it useful ?

That VIN is a copy of another one you gave me earlier, we already have it in the list as the car from Forest Grove, Oregon. According to the Ford Performance build sheet which shows the 58 Rose Mist SHOs, it says that there were 302~ Medium Graphite Metallic '96s made.

Oups, I think I will stop for a while, it's need some concentration (working on 3 separate lists). :S

For the graphite ones, I'm just wonderring if it will useful to regroup all the VIN of Graphite into one list as it's the 2nd uncommon color (not sure how many, around 100). I tought it was 203 or around this. I don't want to complete this list, just putting the ones I have for the owners of this color. But not sure how many owner of graphite will see that list here... I know no one that have one on this site (useful ?).

I think I'm going to go back through the VINs and run each one to be sure. Apparently 56 of the 58 Rose Mists had Gray Leather, and only 2 of them had Grey Cloth. It's possible we haven't found the 2 cloth cars yet, but I want to double check.

Also going to check other options as well.

Trying to make it down to 4 before winter - the green 96 is rusted bad underneath, not gonna fix it but need time to take off parts.
