After a check up :

U.S. : 31 of the 50 states need 2 plates
Canada : 4 of the 13 regions need 2 plates (Manitoba, Ontario, New Brunswick for sure)

I thought the front bracket plate option will be more useful...
But I know now mine was sold new in my province because provinces on each side of mine require the front plate. Better than nothing. I will check later if it's match with the door sticker area code B2. We have a part of the history of each car there.

Just because we talked before, the daytime running lights (DRL) is required all over Canada since 1989.

Thanks for reply Stephen and Kenny (?),

Front and back plates are required in British Columbia also. When I did the full body restoration on the SHO in 2010, I had a Ford fitted bracket for the front installed, as the car had not had one when I bought it in Nova Scotia, which initially did not require fronts and then changed to requiring them, and I think now is back to not doing so. Simplest to have the bracket. :)

Here. Take a look at mine.

Shoforum Mods - Please feel free to add this to any thread or forum Wiki you may wish to expand for the benefit of all members to copy with any permission I may be able to grant. (it IS Ford's production sheet, after all.)

Please notice line 36D - Los Angeles Prep Center/CANADIAN FARMBRO
I wonder if that is a reference to Canadian prepped cars?

I just happened to stumble across your post, but thought I might have something to add. I have a 95, and when I was first cleaning it out I found a decal regarding Farmbro. I brought it up in the production numbers thread since there was some discussion regarding canadian cars not being included in the numbers on wikisho. Anyway, this is the sticker that was in the glovebox.

From what I can gather, my car was probably a leased company car for Farmbro in Mississauga. The first few years of ownership on the Used car package from the MTO have a Ford dealer and Ford Credit as the registered owners.

Interesting. If I understand correctly Farmbro is not a preparation center for Canada but a leased company car...

Not required in all states. I know WA requires one, but my mom's Grand Caravan has never had a front plate on it since new and we've not recieved a ticket for it.

They are super rare, but I still think they are the ugliest color.

Medium Graphite should have stuck around for more than just 96.

I think the top-selling-MaryKay-color is understood by most to be somewhat hideous, but the rarity, as you mention, is what has created a 4 page+ thread.
You're right in that medium graphite should have persisted through Gen3 years. Troy Sours was the only one I ever heard of owning a medium graphite, but that was 15 years ago +/-. I'm sure there are more. I'd pony up for one of those in decent condition.

A Charcoal Grey Metallic is on the Portland, Oregon craiglist, I didn't realize there were two different grays in 1996, what does the medium graphite look like? See the ad for photos of the car

1996 Ford Taurus SHO. Super High Output 3.4 Litre V8 with Auto Trans. 99,900 miles. Charcoal Grey Metallic with Grey Leather Interior. Chrome Wheels. AM/FM/CD. Moonroof. Body and Interior are Excellent. Motor is very clean and has had a lot of recent work. No modifications except for a Borla Exhaust System. The exhaust has a muscle car tone to it like a Mustang GT. Tires and Brakes are Excellent. Runs and Drives Very Well, almost like a new car. Always Adult Owned and well maintained. No Previous Accidents. Non-Smoker. Clear Title. $5200. This is a very rare car and is the nicest and cleanest one I have seen. Just had A/C recharged and new fittings. Almost new tires. Drives like a Sports car. Nothing wrong, with it, I do not need to sell. If you know the history of the SHO and are looking to find the nicest one you can then this is it! Gets good gas mileage

I'm about to have my Rose Mist appraised and wanted to get a certificate from Ford.
Two weeks after I placed my order I called Ford for an update.
They said they would get back to me in two days as they were having problems locating my info.
Three days later they sent me this:
"Good afternoon Kevin, We are emailing you this afternoon to let you know that we did not forget about your order. Our group is looking into your vehicle and doing some research as to why it is not in our database. We shall keep you posted, and if we cannot produce a certificate then we will issue you a full refund. Have a nice weekend. Ford Show Parts"

Been a while since I've last posted on here. Barney is fully repaired and here's some updated pics for the sake of documentation, LOL

If those are recent pics, not bad! It's interesting how much different the color looks between the pics you posted and the one in your sig. What happened to the front 1/4 panel at the bumper seam?

Sorry for the late reply Ryan. Since the color has a lot of iridescence in it, the sun can play huge tricks on the appearance of the color. The front fender has remnants of a dent that P.O. put in it, same with the lower passenger door. I've popped them out but they're far from perfect. I really don't have an issue with the way they are now as its so hard to notice.
