hi all,
this is my first post. i am looking to buy a 1994 with 79,000 miles but the alternator is DOA. a friend at work is parting out a 1994 with a MTX but Rockauto says that they take a different part#(130amp for the mtx and 120amp for the atx)? does this make a difference or is this just some ford buffoonery? TIA

this is not any ford screw up, unless you count on how they mount, otherwise that is correct.

Their mounting holes are in different locations

Just A Thought

Is The Alt From Ford? I Would Remove The Alternator And See If It Is Under Life Time Warranty From An Aftermarket Auto Store/ Advance/autozone Etc- It May Be Free To Replace! Some Stores Will Honor It Without The Reciept. Could Save You Money..worked For Me
