I'm thinking about replacing my rear bearings and hubs but after looking at the rust on everything it doesn't look like removing the rear spindle would be very fun and I'm likely to snap a bolt or two. Are the rear bearings pressed in like the fronts or are they removable by hand? if they are pressed in I'll probably snag some rust free parts from the junkyard and get new bearings and hubs put in em.

The rear hub/ bearing should just come off after unbolting the hub nut, however renting a 3 jaw puller wouldn't be a horrible idea, just in case.

Also, be forewarned. Sometimes, this happens:

...which sucks, because not only does it mean that the race is seized to the spindle, but it also means that you über ruined the bearing and now you really can't drive on it.

Good luck.
