Bump. Anyone interested at all? I just got a PM from a forum member who has a car I am interested in. It can be made ready for me in 3 weeks. I need the $ from this one to put toward that one. Any offers? I really don't want to budge from $1200 (and I'm including the extra parts in at that price). Don't let the noisy valve bother you. It runs/drives fine and has been driven over 3k miles like it is and has never left me on the side of the road.

I'm somewhat interested. By "noisy valve" do you mean the cam, or is there an additional problem? How quickly does it go through power steering fluid? Would you be willing to fix any of these issues before handing it off?

Cam lobe is pitted and the shim is damaged at the #4 cylinder. See the pics above for details. It may need a new camshaft, or you may be able to reuse the existing one-not sure. I do have some extra shims I can throw in, but I don't have a feeler gauge, so I don't know which shim number it will need. I've had the car a little over a year and have only added power steering fluid to it twice. I just check it once in awhile (it does groan when you turn sharp).

I'm looking to get $1200 for it as-is. For that price the seller will get the new intake gaskets, valve cover gaskets, and plugs. (The wires seem to be in good shape), so you'll have most of the stuff for your top 60k.

If you still have her around December/January, I might have to take a trip down to Alabama. Would you trust the vehicle enough to drive it to ND?

Wow, ND? I think I'd check out that clicking front end noise to see if it's a bad wheel bearing before I drove it that far. Otherwise the car has run/driven fine for 3k miles and has never left me stranded. I drove it 500 miles from Houston, TX home with 0 problems. I've replaced the outer tie-rods since then and aligned it, so it drives smooth. I wouldn't worry about that camshaft problem unless a shim gets spit out.

If I get a chance, I may pull the front wheels to see if I can figure out what the clicking noise is. I'm not sure how to tell/diagnose a bad wheel bearing.

I'd be confident that if you threw in a used cam and shim and made that noise go away, you could sell the vehicle for more than the $100 more that it cost to fix.

Bump....I guess. Got a replacement camshaft for it on the way. Whether I get around do replacing it anytime soon is another story. I waited now until the weather is hot as **** (too hot to want to be outside doing anything but going to the beach).

Still kinda up in the air on it. If I don't get a buyer anytime soon, I'll get around to fixing it. I still really want a Gen 2 but can't get one until I sell this one. I'm in the process of trying to save up some more cash to put toward another one if I unload this one. Driving that 95 MTX a couple of months ago ruined me and any motivation I had to fix this one up even though I still like the Gen I's.

Bump again. I've missed out on at least 2 Gen 2 MTX SHOs I would have bought because I haven't unloaded this one.

$1200 firm. I'm including a set of new valve cover gaskets, intake manifold gaskets, 6 Motorcraft plugs, AND a replacement camshaft to fix the engine noise.

I can't have 2 SHOs....no room for 2, no money for 2, getting married in the fall, etc.

Bump. I'd rather not have to deal with Ebay to sell this thing. Nobody is interested at all? I'm about to miss out on another Gen 2 MTX because I really need to sell this one first!
