i recently got this car (89mtx)for cheap. I did the shocks, both o2 sensors spark plugs. Trying not to fix what's not broken. So at stop lights once warmed up my idle will bog and the oil light flickers. No other issues.
Here are the codes Iv got with a reader.
13,77,74,52,63,10,15,22,29
Don't mind 77,74,52 pretty sure these are my error.
Need to pass smog. Gotta get this light gone soon.
Any thoughts much appreciated

The oil light should be ok as that gets triggered when idle goes too low. one of the codes refers to a faulty PCM (computer) and some reference faulty TPS. I would replace the throttle position sensor, clean the IAB/IAC, spray some cleaner on the MAF element for fun, clear the codes and see where you are.

Also have a slight surging feel under heavy acceration. Once I get off work I'll clean up the iac and butterfly. I cleaned my maf a few weeks ago. Will also try a different tps .Not sure what a misfire feels like but I think I have one. It has the stock moto cables maybe pick some up after the cleaning?

Does this refer to spark plug wires or actual cables like ones on the throttle body? If you have original from the factory stock ignition stuff on there then I would replace the spark plugs and the spark plug wires too.

That looks terrible. You see alot of oil on the plug wire ends? If that is oil then you should consider new valve cover seals. it almost looks like mud
and yeah I would replace the wires

just did the wires. feels like im running on all cylinders now. still a little pulsing when under heavy acceleration. Also put a tps from my 93 on it befor doing my wires witch gave better throttle response. Tried to clean the iac. Even opened a clogged airway to the iac. ill run codes tomorrow and see what i got.

Yep. pretty common. Sounds like it needs alot of normal maintenance done. Probably needs a good 60k upper and lower.

If it were me I'd change the rod bearings. That's 1st thing I do when I buy a used SHO.

Ok the pcm code is gone. After reading a page where sdpatt said a sport chip can throw the pcm code. So I took a look and this is what I find. A hyper tech chip. So I unhook the battery then the chip hook the battery back up and now the only codes I have are 22 and 81. Witch is probably due to the massive exaust leak coming from the pipe connecting to the egrvalve. I patched it up before but it reopened.

I had forgot to mention (kind of ashamed)the previous owner ran n20. (Probably why the plugs looked like *****) it came with everything to run n20 half full tank, holder, stainless steel braded line low quality switches Just not the sprayer. It was a dry kit. I can see threads in the butterfly.

So for codes 81 and 22. Give me your guys input. I'll start by sealing up that leak in the pipe below the egr valve.

So instead of half ass patching it up I replaced The Whole pipe with one from a 93. And replaced a few vacuum lines in the process. Idles a lot better but still has the slightest bog. Not enough for an oil light to come on. I'll run codes and report back. That leak under the egr pipe was pretty bad. Sounded like a lawn mower under throttle.

update: replaced maf, swaped a tps and iac valve, replaced the egr downpipe(no more leak) and egr with parts from my 93,ran a few new vac lines to egr and dpfee sensor (for got its name).
Now i still have an engine light. ugh. pulled battery to reset and ran codes afterwords and got 10 and 22 the only ones left. i dont know what to do. someone please help. ANY input would help greatly since ill be trying to smog this pup soon. @sdpatt @luigisho @Toolman @blue92 @Bizzy @yamahaSHO
