I am a poor college student. I know any gains in hp i could get with bolt ons are insignifigant, so i would like to improve the handling of my car. Id love to put 18's on my car. I was wondering who makes good wheels that fit the SHO, what suspension to get, what tire sizes fit, and what brake upgrades can i do that are not tooo extreme.

First off I'd just like to say you better take care of your SHO! Not too many blue mtx 95s around!! thumb

The most common setup would be an Eibach spring/Tokico strut combination. Definitely install subframe connectors also.

For wheels I'd recommend you go with a 17" wheel. Generally they are cheaper than 18s, and generally the tires will be cheaper and lighter weight, too. In a lot of studies, anything above a 17" wheel is purely cosmetic. If you go to http://www.tirerack.com they will show you a nice selection of wheels availble. They currently have 24 17" wheels available.

If you go with 17s 225/50/17 or 235/45/17 is recommended depending on the wheel width and offset.

The 96 brake upgrade is pretty inexpensive for a 95, and gets very good bang for the buck.

I'd be very careful about 18" rims, as your options on tires (as well as rims) are limited, and it won't necessarily improve handling depending on what you're after. I'd suggest investigating springs/struts first. Many of us actually prefer 16" rims for handling, so don't feel pressured to upsize your rims.

IMHO the best bang for the buck bolt-on mods for an MTX are a Y-Pipe and aluminum subframe bushings, although the bushings definitely make the car harsher and a bit noisier. YMMV, so be careful to research things for what you want to do. These are nice cars stock, so don't be in a hurry.

Thanks guys, my car is really taken car of since it was until he got is 00 750il. What is a reputable comapny that makes wheels for the SHO, it seems like all the wheels at tire rack are knock off companies. What im looking for is a BBS RK looking wheel in a gunmetal/non-chrome finish.

Contact SHONut about Team Dynamics wheels. He's got some deals going on right now on some light, strong and affordable wheels.

Also, lots of guys are going for the Centerline forged wheels.

Again, it's not the diameter of the rim, the problems involve rim width and offset.

19x7.5" are easy to fit with the correct offset. As regards to 19"s, you can get Centerlines for less than I paid for my last set of 17" MOMOs, which were cheap. For MOMOs anyway.

As regards looks, it is your opinion, and yes, there aren't many to choose from.

As I put on another topic, The larger the diameter of the rims, the wider they are going to be also. So first off, there aren't many 19 inch rims with a 5x108 bolt pattern, let alone 19x7.5 inch rims with the right pattern.

I just put a set of 18's on and did the Cobra/PBR brake upgrade on and I love it. The tires and rims I got from www.victoriatire.com I would go with the 235/45 18's. I have a 245/45 18 and It's a little close on the rear with my suspension. Also I'm currently looking for some longer studs if anyone know where I can get them?
