brians green bastard from parts unknown ran a hand full of 12.7s today before breaking a dss axle. it has 12.5s in it easy just couldnt get the best mph passes and the best 60ft passes to align lol. when they do its 12.5 for sure. any way enjoy.

yeah he snapped it after running a handful of 12.7s . like i said its actually a much faster car . but the day was misting rain off and on and the track kept getting worse, on top of that when he would have great MPH from the head wind slowing down and nailing the shifts right he would not get a good 60 and vice verse, the day the 60 and the mph align it will go 12.5. and yeah he was spraying but we have no idea how much was in the old bottles , seems like they was all very low cause only one or two hit and then the mph fell off each time. the 12.7s was mostly all done when the mph was down 3 or so compared to the fastest mph passes.

Just shocked a 2.0 60ft is breaking axles rated to what 600hp? Are you preloading the drivetrain before launch?

Most definately! These DSS axles have been through **** for several years.
They also use some stock parts. They are not completly new.
60ft times have nothing to do with breaking stuff. They just tell you how effective you are at putting down the power you are making.
I should have run a couple of passes N/A to see if I could knock you off the top spot!:)

So were there any changes made to the car to net a 12.7? I just remember you being stuck at 13.0x, and now you were able to make numerous 12.7 sec passes. Wondering if it was a car thing, driver thing, weather thing or a combination of them.

I have not changed a thing to the car. It's been the same for a couple of years now.
Cold weather, driver mod, shift points, tire pressure, and 2nd gear burnouts!:)

Brian i dare you to knock me off the top spot. I could use someone like you nipping at my heels to push me into 12's. then again maybe ill put my car on the juice and put a couple tenths on your 12.7 ;)

I guess I need to take one of my spare SHO's and completely gut it. Then swap the heart out of the green plus into it.:angelnot:

12's is so 2001.

Great job. I remember the axles we ran used a stock inner joint I think, that was heat treated. I always figured that would be the part that would fail (although it never did)

Check out a C6 ZR1's IRS axles sometime :oogle:

It's definately harder than people think.
If it was easy, the list would sure be longer for V6 Yamahammer's in the 12.s!
I could tell if it was going to be a quick run by the time I shifted into second.
It's all about the launch to get a good 60 foot time.

Very true. I knocked .5 seconds off my best on street tires when I went to drag radials. Never ran 14's that whole night. First pass was 13.7, second was a 13.5.

I here 12's are very hard, it will be pretty neat to see if I can break 12's without a bottle.
