No A/C Parts for my 3.2

Thanks guys, You know, when my mechanic said he couldn't find parts, I would have assumed he called around my town to different parts stores, but just like you said Steve, try Autozone and Ye shall recieve. So far I've got a quote for a new accumulator for $90. No discharge tube yet, but I...

No A/C Parts for my 3.2

So here's the situation: My A/C Clutch seized in early November of last year, so I had it replaced so that I could get the serpentine belt moving again. At the time, I didn't bother to recharge my A/C, simply because the recharge fitting had broke off and it just wasn't a big concern of mine...

Pic of my compass/autodimming mirror and hardwired radar detector

I was thinking of doing something different with my radar detector this summer. I definately like your thinking :thumb:

Are there problems with 15" rims and 96 upgrade brakes

Yeah, when I had my inspection done I had my mechanic put my summers back on because he was having trouble doing my alignment with my winter rims. He checked pressure and balanced them, but even so, when the car gets up to 65 there is noticeble vibration in the drivers seat (sort of like a...

Where to Find Hard Button EATC

Oh yeah, I've definately been looking for a while now, and always check e-bay to see what people are trying to sell. Although that link you gave me seems a bit pricy for an EATC. I'm doing some major work this summer and will be making lots of trips to the bone yard. I may even be in the...

Are there problems with 15" rims and 96 upgrade brakes

Thanks Autosho, that's what I thought. I'm doing such a large over-haul this summer that I will probably just go ahead and buy a parts car and rip the 16" slicers off of that car and ditch the borbets since they are becoming more hassle than they are worth. Thanks for the tips, Timmy

Are there problems with 15" rims and 96 upgrade brakes

Hey Fellas; I've got a set of 15" Borbet Alloys on my 95 ATX and am thinking of upgrading to the 96 brake kit this summer. I had heard a rumor that the 96 upgrade kit will only work with the 16" rims, (maybe because the rotors are larger?) I was wondering if anyone had an answer on that...

    Jet Black Steering Fluid

I think you and I are having the same problem. In February I had a state inspection done on my 95 ATX and my mehcanic had asked me if I had been having any steering problems. I said " Funny you mention that :D , I had been thinking I needed a new power steering pump soon". He told me my...

Where to Find Hard Button EATC

I did do a search, but didn't find anything that really answered my question. If I make a trip to the junk yard what cars and years should I look for to find a hard button EATC that will fit my 95 ATX. I have seen in posts that it is possible to make certain ones like the ones from...

    throttle body cleaning??

I used STP brake parts cleaner. That crap works great on just about everything. I picked it up at Autozone for like $4. It comes in an aerosol can and works great on everything (including cleaning your hands after you are done). It not abrasive at all, and it did a great job taking that...

    Rear caliper check

Markus, The rear calipers should be easy to turn with the right tool. Autozone or PepBoys stock a tool that you can borrow called a disc brake caliper compressor. It allows you to squeeze and turn the caliper bore back into the caliper with ease. As for doing it with the lines disconnected, I...

    GEN2 Exhaust

Hey Jy94SHO, I have a 95 MTX which I am replacing the exhaust on very shortly (Largely due to the fact that I failed my inspection because of it). Like you, I too am considering using the dynomax cat-back. You should look at the topic I just started like 2 weeks ago: Dynomax Exhaust. You'll...

are regular taurus rims the exact same size as slicers?

Yup, you hit the nail on the head. Most are 15's....the nice thing about the standard taurus rims is that they can be run in either direction, where as most slicers are one ways onlys. That's a pain if you rotate your tires every 6k miles. Timmy

    Steering Rack replacement

I don't mean to get testy. In fact, I'm probably due for a tranny swap this summer as well. The fact of the matter is, I've ignored my sho the past year and a half and have a lot to do this summer. I'm replacing the steering rack, exhaust, doing a 96 brake upgrade along with having the parts...

    Steering Problems

Usually when your power steering fluid turns black, it indicates that the seals inside your steering rack are bad. I have the same problem with my 95ATX. They make a bottle of crap you can throw in the steering fluid to help control the break down from getting worse. My steering rack change...

    Steering Rack replacement

Wow Shojuan, I never thought taking the engine out would help me get to the steering rack. Oh, but I almost forgot......oh that's right.... Not only am I 22 and have never done an engine swap on any car I have owned (my 95 ATX makes #2), but I'm also finishing college this May, not only with a...

    Dynomax Exhaust

Thanks for the input fellas. AutoSho: I don't know if it was a friend of yours that had the rot problem with the Dynomax, but if it was: Tell them to visit the Dynomax website and checkout their warranty http://www.dynomax.com/warranty.stm . One of the reasons I was possibly going to go with...

    Dynomax Exhaust

Well wouldn't you know it, I got my 95 ATX inspected this past month and failed inspection. One of my problems was the fact that my mufflers each had a set of holes in them and that a weld gave away on the strait pipe. I patched my exhaust up to get the sticker, but I'll need replacement by...

    Steering Rack replacement

Thanks again guys. I appreciate the advice. How bad is it to bleed fluid back through all the lines? My old man seems to think it's just a matter of slowly turning the wheel and allowing the pump to move the fluid on it's own. Then just add more fluid as needed. What do you guys have to say?
