So what did you do to your SHO today!?

They are and they ride very nice as well. Need to get acclimated to all of the lane departure assist and extra safety features they have on them. I do miss my SHO occasionally but I am also relieved when it only takes me around $40 to fill up the Camry versus the almost $70 to fill up the SHO.

So what did you do to your SHO today!?

Traded in my SHO for a 2020 Camry SE. The nearly 100 miles/day commute and not so great gas mileage has been not very cool. 180k miles in total, stock ptu, stock turbos, stock everything. Only major repair done was on the timing chain + water pump deal. It was fun while it lasted and I'm...

    Timing chain replacement

I know it's an F150 video but I would assume it would be relatively the same process since we have the same Engine. If you're doing the timing chain, do the water pump, phasers, tensioners, the whole 9. The last thing you'd want is to do the timing chain and then have the water pump shit out...

    Bad catalytic converter

$2100 for replacing a single cat is absurd. My shop quoted me $800 parts + labor. If your area doesn't do emissions testing, then I wouldn't even bother with replacing the catalytic converter. My cat has been out since 89k miles and I'm now at 155k with 0 issues.

    Steering Column/Shaft Squeak

I get a squeaking/squeeling noise when I turn my wheel, but only when its cold out. I've had it since 90k miles and hasn't caused me any issues yet.

Flushing Transfer Case Fluid and Replacing Fluid

Depends. The older SHO's don't have a drain plug on the transfer case, so you'll have to drill and tap one. The newer SHO's (2013 and up) have a drain plug. Harder than it needs to be, but it's definitely doable, just takes a little bit of maneuvering.

Rock Auto is about to make my shit list...

Haven't had any issues with RockAuto, although I've only ordered 1 wheel bearing from them. With something as heavy as a battery, I'd feel more comfortable just going to your local auto parts store.

    Rear wheel bearing replacement

Yeah, the wheel bearings are a pain in the ***, especially if you live in one of the northern states that uses salt on their roads. I ended up taking my car to my mechanic and they had to use a hub buster and 30 minutes of heat using an Oxy torch.

    Cat Back Exhaust

I have a Corsa exhaust and I love it. Hearing the turbos with the windows down is an amazing feeling.

    Creeking when turning steering wheel

Could be a lot of things. I had a popping/creaking noise coming from the front and it ended up being my struts. My car does make some very strange noises when it gets really cold out but it goes away once its warmed up.

    Epp air filter

Yeah, I don't use oil in my K&N filter either. I usually find that whacking it against a fence and vacuuming it with a little handheld vac works best.

    Rear wheel bearing replacement

I ended up using the SKF BR930742 Wheel + Hub assembly in case anyone else was confused.

    New to forum

2 turbo failures within 10k miles would have me concerned. Have you checked for any leaks? How is the water pump and timing chain?

This car is the definition of stealth

Wish I was that lucky. Got pulled over for doing 65 in a 55

    Shifting issues with Livernois?! :eeeeeek:

    Rear wheel bearing replacement

Is there a difference between the PP and non PP wheel bearings? My right rear wheel bearing is noisy and needs to be replaced. I'm looking on Rock Auto and I only see front wheel bearings that are compatible with the performance pack. Are the front wheel bearings different from the back...

    Oil Change $$

In my experience: Places like Valvoline, JiffyLube, etc. expect to pay around $60-$80 for full synthetic. Independent shops, around $40-$50. By yourself? - $25-$30 and 20-30 minutes of your time. It's very easy to do.

misfire on cyl 1 w/ lms 91 tune

I would definitely address this with Livernois. If you flash back to stock, does the issue go away?

    Really need some recommendations please.

I have a loud humming noise that increases with acceleration as well, but I know that's the rear wheel bearings starting to scream at me. I would definitely check the wheel/hub assemblies for play. I know one of they key diagnostics for bad wheel bearings is a loud droning noise that gets...
