    Suspension Codes

Hi all. Need to replace the front struts, my 2010 calls for suspension D. What is the difference between A, B, C, D.... ? Aftermarket brands do not differentiate and offer a one fits all approach. Would like to get KYB's but not sure if they make them for the SHO. Otherwise I'll try to find the...

    Torque Converter?

So, I bought the used transmission back in February from a scrap yard in Detroit. They said it had only 50k miles on it but not sure that was true. I was in between jobs and didn't want to replace it without knowing if the "new" one would work so I drove with it in the trunk until last week when...

Where to purchase 2010 SHO Torque Converter

I've been experiencing a similar issue. Took it to a transmission shop and their scanner showed that in my case, the torque converter is locking up properly. You might want to do that before buying it.

So what did you do to your SHO today!?

Looks good. Give us an update in a few months. In my experience, some varnishes turn yellow over time. I have not found the "right" sealant to use after polishing headlights.

    Replacing Transmission Line

Found this video, so its pushing the tool in, then the hose in and out, right?

    Replacing Transmission Line

Thanks for the info. Is it a matter of inserting the special tool and then pulling the lines? Do I need to buy 2 of these and do them at the same time or can I just buy one? The ones you shared don't ship to Canada and Amazon.ca wants almost $70 for 2. Found a local website that sells them...

    Replacing Transmission Line

Hi The transmission line going to the radiator started leaking, line rusted under the bracket looking at the parts diagram, it shows two clips that secure the lines to the by-pass valve My SHO doesn't have these. Has anyone replaced this line or removed the tranny that can provide any...

    BMS Fault - Alternator?

Yesterday I finally replaced the alternator. Got a new 200 amp Motorcraft from Rockauto. The alert is gone, problem fixed. What a pain to replace it, not that hard but very difficult to work on due to space restrictions. Mechanic quoted 2.5 hours, took me 4 so not too bad. This video was very...

    Torque Converter?

Planning on getting a used transmission next week. Anyone knows how much it weighs? Couldn't find anything online. Is this something I can throw in the trunk of the SHO?

    Torque Converter?

Quick update. I added the Lucas snake oil and the vibration reduced substantially. I found a used transmission with about 160k km (100k miles) nearby and my local mechanic quoted 11 hrs of labor to replace it, at $100 CAD/hr. This is less than half what they quoted to rebuild it. I'm in between...

    Torque Converter?

Appreciate your reply. I'm using a laptop and honestly I'm very cautious when opening "unknown" stuff on Forscan, last thing I want to do is mess something up. I'll follow your instructions and play with this over the next days. Question now is, which PIDs should I look for that are specific...

    Torque Converter?

@bpd1151, when I first searched for a used transmission on car-part for a 2010, the list displayed said 4 bolts. Then, found 802SHO's thread and confirmed this. I do not know for sure which one I have but my SHO was built in 2009 so most likely a 4 bolt one. No worries, I also have the German...

    Torque Converter?

After going to several transmission shops and getting the same general answer "you need a full $4k to $5k rebuild", most likely to cover their @SS with a high mileage vehicle, I've decided to put some shudder elimination additives in and run it till Spring-Summer (unless it fails before then). I...

    Whining noise maybe grinding noise?

Could be the serpentine belt tensioner, ac compressor bearing or alternator.

    Torque Converter?

@SHOdded , thanks for sharing this info. From reading it, I assume the TCC needs some sort of specialized scanner(?). I don't have the knowledge to determine if it is a solenoid issue, unless there are PIDs I can monitor with Forscan(?) See below. I took the vehicle to a reputable transmission...

    BMS Fault - Alternator?

That was my initial train of thought (and still my main suspect) but then I read that the PCM in this car can command the regulator to raise the voltage. This is also noted in the Principles of Operation document shared in post #8. Last night I ran some tests using Forscan, all came good, right...

    BMS Fault - Alternator?

@Ta2dResqr, since you took the time to write that message, I'll give you my point of view. On post #9 I was replying to Majestic not to Texas Marauder. What was said in post # 10 was spot on but the added comments totally changed how the message is perceived: Read this: LOL, sometimes I think...

    Torque Converter?

@kryptto , thanks for the info. I don't think cables touched when I was cleaning/tightening the connections but maybe it did happen. The battery was off the vehicle for approx. 2 hours, not sure if that would also reset the shift points, I'm no expert on that matter. The issue persisted when I...

    BMS Fault - Alternator?

@Texas Marauder , no need to be rude buddy. I'm just going by what I know, which could be wrong and if I am, educate me. No need to add comments like "LOL, sometimes I think I'm talking to the wall." or "believe whatever you want". You seem to know about electronics and what you are saying makes...
