Carrier bearing

When I got my clutch last summer my mechanic told me that if the bearing was taken off the axle it would destroy the bearing. Has anyone taken off this bearing and took it anywhere to get it looked at? I really don’t want to sell my SHO but I don’t want to be stuck with a car I cant sell if it...

I my self have talked to Ford and they tell me that they are going to make the part again someday and that they are on back order. thay just wont tell me how long.

Does anyone know when ford is going to make this part again. I have been told that it is on back order, but no one can tell me till when. i have waited for over a year and would really like to drive my SHO this summer. I am in need of this bearing for an '89 SHO.
