Sudden gear whirring noise
Oil it looks dark like motor oil, it still drives and shifts, could it be the power steering pump or rack, im gonna really check it out tomorrow as its too dark out right now, but when it happened i shifted into 5th 4th etc no problem, the noise doesnt seem to change whether the clutch is in or...- ShoProud

Sudden gear whirring noise
Help I was driving home (1995 mtx) in fourth accelerating up too 140km/hr and all of a sudden i hear this noise sounds like gears whirring, doesnt matter if its in gear or if the clutch is disengaged etc. made it to my driveway stopped car popped hood and smoke! its leaking some type of fluid...- ShoProud
