    I need a GOOD atx tranny. My car is a 93, and I don't know if the trannys are the same for all. (I would bet $ that they are the same, but I just want to make sure before I go through with it) pm will be faster :)

    I would deff fix it if I had the extra money. I start school on monday and have a total of 1500$ to pay by dec. and I just got laid off at my job. So unemployement only brings 400/week. This ins't my daily driver, but my g/f is going to move in, in a while so I'm going to need another car...

    Well atleast I learned how to change a VSS... It didn't help at all. It still does it... Goes into 2nd and around 40-50 mph it goes into a netural state. untill it jerks into 1st gear almost at a stop. ...I guess i'm going to sell her and get a truck. Thanks stl for all your help.

    This should be my last prob. I can't get the pin into the speedocable/vss. It doesn't come down enough to use my thumb. Know of any tricks that gets the pen in the hole? lol :thankyou: ^

    I took off the Y pipe... I found the VSS, and the single nut holding it on and I can't for the life of me get a nut to fit on to take it off. I think it is a 10mm but I really have no clue. So to save me time tommarow does anyone know what size that damn thing is??

    I just came back from Advanced Auto Parts. I think I'm going to start shoping somewhere else. They never help me at all. Anyways. They gave me a couple of options for the VSS. With/without wire and with/without cable I got the one that has no wire and cable. I guess this is the right kind...

    If the VSS was bad wouldn't the speedo not work? just a thought. I tired the battery thing. It didn't help at all.

    OK, update: engine is getting REALLY hot just going aroud the block... there is a small amount of smoke comming from the under the hood but it was comming from under the engine. How do I check to see if the Thermostat is stuck/closed?

    I was driving normally when the car started to shift wierd. I could smell something so I drove back home (5 blocks). It wouldn't shift out of 2nd gear.     The a/c has never worked since I have bought the car a couple of months ago. Where should I start? The a/c blows hot when you set it to be hot, but it blows the same temp. air as whatever is outside.

    Yes, everything that I can tell is plugged in. No vacuum line is crushed under the intake. The RPM's barley get over 1k before it goes off. I have checked every single vacuum line I could find and I could not find a leak. Yuuuppp all bolted up.. EDIT:: so it's midnight and I can't fall...
