The check valve is likely used to keep the PCV valve from seeing any boost(often start to leak) and keep any boost from making its way into the crank case. Gauging interest: Methanol injection kit for the SHO
I am not familiar with methanol injection on a n/a application, but I can say that for forced induction it is definitely something worth looking into. Meth/water injection allows a cooler than ambient intake aircharge, and slows down the burn in the combustion chamber to near race gas levels...- Mrpeepers

Took the SHO to the track-'91, basically stock
First run: 15.52@91 mph 2.38 60' 10.0 1/[email protected] mph -Missed 3rd and waited 1-2 seconds to put it back in. Hence the low trap speed in the 8th and 1/4. My fault, not the tranny. My brakes suddenly feel weird...
I think I get what you're saying, and I'm experiencing the same thing. I have to push the pedal down much farther than usual but if I pump it once before coming to a stop it's fine. Nevermind my idea of using a DSM CBV. No way it will flow enough CFM for a turbo SHO through a 1" hole :p BTW, compressor surge can be caused by a BOV that is adjusted to tight as well. Like I said, when you let off the throttle, cruising won't affect it. Also, it depends on the type(and adjustment) of BOV, as stated before about the idle. And venting metered air to the atmosphere greatly impacts gas mileage, washes the cylinder walls with gas when it runs rich as you let off the throttle(along with gas mixing with the oil), and depending on the BOV(especially a CBV) it can suck in air at idle causing a lean condition.
