    Difference between SHOs built Oct. 88 - May 89 and rest of 89s?

    I had understood that only the 89 had the rod shifter. I also think one of the differences of the early ones was the smaller clutch. The 90 and up used a larger clutch since the original one wasn't holding up. Whatever year they changed the shifter, that is when they changed the exhaust.
