Sho mtx

I have a 91Sho with manual transmission. When i put it into first it pops out unless i go to second and then go back to first which works most of the time other that that it runs great. Any ideas as to what the problem is

I know its a dumb question but im new to fords I bought a chip for my sho where is the computer located to change it pictures would be great. its a 91 sho

Turn on turns off

I can start my 1991 sho but after about 15 min of driving it turns off suddenly and then i have to wait about 20 mins to start it again, but now i have to jump start it even though the battery is good. i already checked the alternator. any ideas.
