A brief search yielded a small conversation about things that go bang. Unsure of the administration standpoint on the subject, I'll ask as discreet as possible. I have struggled to find a good spot to mount my phone but now I have another daily carry item, I'd like some ideas on where to store in the taurus. Anyone have some thoughts or experience on the matter? As many of you know I 3D print a lot of stuff for these cars so hypothetical ideas are welcome as well. Pictures of set ups would be great, trying to get something figured out for when I start daily driving it again hopefully at the end of the week.

Are you talking about a discrete 7 round or a conspicuous 42 round?

I have found a happy place for an LCP up on my visor area.

Console is not a deal breaker but my standard body carry is where I usually leave things.

Discreet 15 round, Sheild 9. Console isn't off the table its just small, was thinking more along the lines of under dash or next to seat. Just curious what other solutions people have found. Its not comfortable in its holster while im in the car, and I cant carry it at work so I wanted a good spot for it when not on me.

They make metal magnetic mounts that you can stick under your dash, but I keep my car pew in the glovebox in a Remora holster. I'm usually carrying another one, but if not, that Remora can be easily slid in your waistline or between the seat and center console. And they're cheap ($20-30), so there's no reason not to own one.

This is the best one I have found. It pivots when you sit in your car and will not dig in on you I also run it at the 3'oclock position and the seatbelt works just fine. I clime in and out of my SHO all day. I wear it between my belt and pants this helps with the comfort and just untuck my shirt in the summer or wear an over shirt in the winter and tuck in the under shirts. I run the h.e.ll cat pro so very similar to your set up. you can adjust the retention and pivot and the pew pew will not fall out!

I didn't really specify, this is what I use for all of mine. No clips, sweat shields, etc. Just the basic holster. The material stays put wherever you place it. I.e. on your body (waist, front, small of back, or pocket), between a seat, etc. I have about a half dozen of these and I carry the same as you (Shield Plus, Shield PC, P365, & XDS 3.3). Sometimes they'll run promotions and throw in a free mag holster with the order. In my SHO, I keep my XDS in a Remora in the glovebox, along with a extra mag (in a holster) and a extra P365 mag (in a holster), which is my primary carry. The Shield Plus stays under the arm rest in my truck so I can draw from there or raise the arm rest and wear it.

I've tried several holsters, even ankle carry, and always come back to these. Nothing can poke me from any direction and I don't have to remove my belt to put them on. Just always wear an undershirt as you would with any other.

Im...well...fat, and inside the waist anywhere other than the 6-o-clock position is painful. Thus the issue of keeping it on me while in the car. I wouldn't mind the mag mounts if not for the drilling into plastics part but I haven't ruled it out. Heavily considering the Remora between the seat and console at least to try (like @Joshw0000 said, so cheap why not). But i am trying with an idea of a "clip on" style bracket that either goes over the console side and into the center compartment with the pew nestled down by the seat, or same concept clipped to the knee panel. I appreciate all the feedback since I can actually drive the car again and I dont leave home without it.

On the knee bolster under the steering wheel. Another member shared this with me.
I like that.
I keep one in the door pocket. It would make for an awkward reach but it’s a nice fit wedged in the back and 90% concealed.

My go to now is 1791 gunleather. I carry OWB, but I’ve heard great things about their IWB options as well.

This is what I came up with, prototype as it has already been modified and broken. Full transparency i designed this blind without even looking at the car, a general concept. I think if I beef up the arch, thin out the piece that slips behind the trim, and clock the handle more it'll be perfect. Useless filament that I got on a deal and it polishes so nice, shame im almost out of it. Admits, sorry if the images arent allowed, its a realistic toy gun..

Interesting setup that avoids your concern of drilling holes. Does it allow for different seat positions?

I am working on a version thats clocked differently so that the seat can be further forward. I had to put this one on ice until I get caught up with all the other prints and actually fix the car. im thinking if I clock it another 20-30 degrees counterclockwise it should lift the back enough to be ergonomic for grabbing it. Ideally I would move it closer to the dash but there is a trim clip just forward of where the mount is in the pics and another one right where it meets the dash so not a lot of flexibility in that area to sneak the clip inside, but I also have a metal clip i am going to try out that would screw to my printed holster and a small sturdy metal clip would slip in behind the trim, slimmer and stronger but not a lot of support for preventing tilt when holstering/unholstering.

Is it spaced away from the center console enough that you can get your hand in comfortably to unholster it?

Yet to be seen, i designed it with about half an inch between the mounting side and the inside of the holster so the space is there but with its current clocking not really, I designed it blind without reference to the car at all so the awkward angle and the lower it sits the wider the tunnel so the closer it gets to it. By clocking it up it should be a lot easier, I'll probably play with it this weekend and report results, going to try and find an APIM this weekend so I'll be tinkering with the car already.

While juggling a bunch of open projects I finally managed to finish my holster, been living with it for about a week now and don't even notice it. my leg doesn't hit while driving, I don't knock into it moving my leg around, its firmly in there but not too firm and the pew pew sits tight and is easy to remove. @Joshw0000 it is comfortable to remove even with my ogre hands, between the spacing I built in and the contour of the console (it tapers slightly right behind the holster) I had to compromise and use a metal clip to secure it rather than cast it out of plastic, but this a no screws no tape mount that was heat pressed into the plastic and then epoxy over. The only instability I found is it pivots if you physically move it and only by 10 degrees or so, a second clip would solve that minor rare annoyance but I carved the opening a bit more so the sight doesn't snag on draw. A little "Alcantara" wrap and she looks pretty good, the wrap made it a little rough around the edges and If I did it again I'd probably just buff the plastic to a satin finish, but I do like how it kind of blends in.

A couple gun magnets on the driver & pax side of the console shifter seem to work, mounted in spots where both you and maybe a significant other's seat adjustments make for an easy grab, regardless of who's driving

Not to mention, it's plenty strong enough to even hold a long gun (standard 16" barrel, suppressed) on the passenger side, if your riding like that. Can hold up to 35 lb. or something like that.

Trunk safe that can hold multiple long guns and/or other kit items ... not a bad idea either. Of course, if that's how you roll.

I scored a PI trunk locker a couple years ago, just haven't talked myself into the added weight. Don't usually carry long guns but it could be useful otherwise. Im getting a lot of mixed feedback between mag mounts and no mounts just body carry. I know a lot of people swear by the mag mounts, and the people screaming body carry only say it's irresponsible to have a vehicle mount at all. Kind of anticipated controversy posting anything about firearms, so lesson learned lol

Hopefully constructive feedback.
Hit and miss, mostly concerns over an accident which I get, and while no one can predict the future, I cant plan for every scenario either. That said, I did order a smaller hopefully more comfortable holster to try in a different carry location to possibly keep it on me while driving.
