Catted Downpipes, 3 BAR MAP, 160 T-Stat, cold plugs

Personally its my goal and intention to do exactly what you have planned and any gains from a catback exhaust in power will be traded for moar quieter SHO. Not worth it for me and I'll drive it for business too.

Catted Downpipes, 3 BAR MAP, 160 T-Stat, cold plugs

Ok so catted downs give you that, but how much HP from a cat back once they are installed? I mean if you leave the stock exhaust after installing performance catted down pipes , how much performance are you leaving on the table? As for the down pipes themselves, 14 to 16 is noticeable but not...

Catted Downpipes, 3 BAR MAP, 160 T-Stat, cold plugs

What's a typical power gain from a cat back after you've added down pipes, catted or non? Sounds to me like the downpipes alone are a worthwile upgrade and probably a cat back is more for sound and not a huge bang for the buck power wise.

2 newb questions - engine swaps and meth inject

Only reason that quickly comes to mind is $$$$!

Nice numbers all around. Sounds like it was fun. Where did you drive from?

2 newb questions - engine swaps and meth inject

Cool...more or less just curious because a lot more F150 EB on the road I'm sure than SHO Tauri so if a catastrophe were to occur, I would think easier to go that route. Sounds like it's not much a concern. As for the carbon buildup, that's also what I read regarding induction cleaning...

2 newb questions - engine swaps and meth inject

As I spend more time investigating this car ( don't own yet ) I have a couple questions from the members here. One is performance / maintenance related and the other is worst case scenario engine compatibility. 1. I see some information on carbon buildup on the backs of the intake valves on...

    Livernois tune ordered!!

I don't consider myself an expert, but from what I understand you are correct about warm engine ( typical operating temp ) making more power than cold. This is not to be confused with cold air intake VS warm. Cold air holds more oxygen and that allows you to make moar power. A colder motor...

A few questions from a NEWB

Interesting information guys - thanks for the replies! AWD concerns: Wife drives a 2010 Mazda CX-9 which uses the Flex drivetrain and the AWD front PTO unit went out just shy of 60K. Started leaking grey fluid on the driveway one day and I quickly figured out what was going on. Warranty...

SHO and Flex convert to vent to atmosphere with factory blow off valves

One reason you wouldn't likely be able to buy a SHO with VTA from a dealer is the Fed drive-by noise standards. Just like intake noise, the Fed regulates this and hence the need for baffles and silencing devices on stock intake tracts. I like to hear the turbo in my car too, but it's a bit...

    Help a NEWB

I've been on Ford auto performance forums for years and you guys are pretty widely known. Don't think I would go any other route if I were going to start modding this car once I owned one. Thanks to all for replies so far. The PP with the lower drive ratio makes sense to me. I have no idea...

    Help a NEWB

That's funny....I still really like this car, but I'm looking forward to being done with ridiculous torque steer and having room for my kids in the back seats. They are only 9 but whoever sits behind me is cramped for leg room. I'm 6'2" and while there's enough room, it's a bit small for me.

    Help a NEWB

Hello SHOforum members. Looking to have some opinions and advice dropped on me about the 4gen SHO. I'm currently in the position to start looking at a replacement for my current car, a 2008 Mazdaspeed 3. I want a performance sedan with AWD and the SHO is pretty appealing to me. I have also...

A few questions from a NEWB

I'm considering a SHO for my next vehicle because of the AWD and Ecoboost power capabilities. I have some concerns though. I appologize if I'm supposed to search for FAQ first or whatever but this is my first post and I just thought I'd throw this out there. First off I'm not newbie to...
