    Thanks for the information. Regarding installation: what is the best method. Is there an installation tool to press the sleeves in place? I read somewhere that they are hammered onto the shaft, but given the close quarters I am not sure I can accomplish that.

    Thanks for the advice. Assuming I bought the parts and replaced them; are there any special tools required? Also, I don't have the ability to evacuate the system and then fill it with refrigerant. Would a shop be willing to do that for me even though they did not do the repair?

    A/C compressor sounds like someone dropped a handful of marbles in a garbage disposal. Local shop wants $1200 for compressor (new), orifice tubes, accumulator/dryer and labor. Specialty Auto A/C shop wants $1800 for all of the above and condenser. Are these typical prices and does anyone know...

    transmission question

    I have a similar noise in my 95. As soon as the speedo first passes 20 MPH I get that noise. If touching the brake at the same time, you can feel a slight pulsation at the same time. I figured it related to some form of self-check in the ABS (if there is such a thing).
