Nope, Windstar. Which, especially since the electronics don't change from 3.0 to 3.8 in the Taurus, and the Windstar is (was) available with both engines also, the VSS should be the same. Plus, the clusters (well, most of them) interchange between both cars. ****, they are the same platform...
I've been considering putting this one in, also. (Yes, it will work, just a few different wires in the harness). It would bolt right in to the existing mounting brackets since it is the same type of cluster. I've been researching this one a lot. And, the reline isn't a problem for me with...
BTw, there were some 1992-1995's with digital dashes. Both Flex Fuel, and Not. If I find some, I'll post, but I know for a FACT that there was, and there is even the correct dashboard trim for them.
BTW, about that equalizer, how does it wire up? I got mine today, and it has this with it:

One Plug with two ends the same (Six pins, in two rows of three)
One plug (Six pins, one end plugs in, the other has 5 bare wires)
One Plug that apparently attaches to the metal frame on the back...
I can't quite tell from the pictures: What color does the cluster glow, the 1st Gen Green, or the 2nd Gen Blue-Green? It seems to match everything else in your car, and it looks like everything (including the clock) is 2nd Gen. So, which is it? Thanks!
