HPFP for just an e30 tune is absolute waste of money. I've been on e40 for like 4 years now without a hiccup. If your "actual" barometric pressure came from a weather report then it's not the actual barometric pressure but the corrected barometric pressure. You need uncorrected, from a place like www.airdensityonline.com I suspect bad iniector(s) or broken ring(s). I would definitely do a compression...- stripSHO

Who on this platform has blown an engine on stock internals?
Something tells me being able to hold 2nd gear out to 75 mph (non-pp) would put a much bigger smile on your face. All that low end torque has no actual performance benefit beyond the dyno.- stripSHO

Save the money on a built engine and get real turbos. As I've been preaching for years now- if you get rid of the puny turbines this engine will breathe all the way to the 7k redline and you'll be able to make 600 whp with no more stress than your typical stock turbo e30 tune. Bov issues
I would start by just verifying all tubing and wiring for the boost control solenoid are intact. Scan for DTCs. Maybe check wastegate actuator linkage. It sounds like overboost to me, maybe not though- stripSHO

If the computer is commanding the BOVs to open, then something is making it believe that your turbos are hitting their surge line. Can you attach a .zip with some log files? It would be helpful to see all the data.- stripSHO

Tune only, both cars finish in 4th. The "extra shift" argument doesn't even enter the arena until you're running like 12.0 or faster, and even then it's pretty much nonsense. My tuned PP initiates a 5th gear shift at 112 mph (probably too early). I cross the finish line at 112 mph. For me any...- stripSHO

Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, and their own definition of faster. For the dragstrip, 3.16 gears have the superior net mechanical advantage, albeit by a small margin.
