Definitely with SM105 on this. I used to be in SWFL but I'm in Michigan now. You may not need to go as HAM as he did on the maintenance unless you're beating the doors off the car, but that is a great launching point to start your own build. I'd say the biggest thing is exhaust/retune to let the...
Hi all. Had my rig up in the air today to put on a new torque mount (thanks Tony!) Had some oil built up on the bottom side of the PTO near the output shaft. In the picture you can see where it was goobered pretty good with sealant. That's been there since I bought it. Is this the output seal...
Howdy all. Looking to do some suspension upgrades this spring/summer now that the toy is back out to play. I've picked up an AD Torque Mount, and I'm looking to put this boat on some H&R springs. Past threads have mentioned switching to the PP Struts if you're not already on them to help with...
I went with a Powerstop kit and have had very good results. Have been through the wringer too dodging deer up here in the thumb of MI. Can't believe I haven't warped a rotor yet.
I may be wrong (others may know more) but newer ones may be missing the ears for the front transmission torque mount. Ford deemed them unnecessary and removed them, but some newer years still had the ears on the frame under the radiator.
Sounds like blow off valve kicking in if you hear it audibly kick out air. I had a loose vacuum line on the boost solenoid that was causing the BOV to flutter open like you described before coming completely off and staying open completely.
The oil residue doesn't typically hurt anything just looks like crap. If you're VTA modded you'd usually hear it hiss when you floor it if it was a BOV issue. The valves are after the sensors and if the boost is escaping there you wouldn't (typically, in my experience) have a code. So this is...
Really depends on how much you're willing to cut up your interior. I got rid of the cup holders on my catfish camaro to wire a panel in. If you're not willing to make that sacrifice, if you can measure and 3D print to prototype (or if you know somebody that can without killing you on shipping)...
Definitely credit to what SM105 said. My SHO has been gas picky ever since I bought it (Marathon in particular seems to run poorly in it) and I've heard others say these cars want at least mid grade when not tuned. Definitely put a little E85 in if possible. If you can't get it easily most part...
To add to this, LED may need a resistor in the line. When I upgraded my interior lights I had to add resistors (just pressed them in the socket with the bulb). Not sure how the puddles function but my aftermarket ones work fine.
Yep. I had one come off and it stuck the BOV wide open. Didn't set any codes on mine though. Get some small fuel line clamps and secure them on the solenoid. Over time they get stretched and more loose than my ex girlfriend on tequila Saturday.
No update yet, still RNA (Remedy Not Available) and if their turnaround is anything like GM's it'll be another month or two. I used some foam 3M double sided tape (which is probably what they'll use). That stuff is pretty darn permanent though.
Have
Have been religious with drain and fills, added a couple tubes last time and it's only gotten worse. I don't want to wait any longer on the problem and have the TC blow material through the transmission. Have it parked for the winter and have built up the funds to do the job. See it too...
