Not too bad actually. I read your post and prepped for the worst between your 6+ hours and search results showing 7+ hours.
I was in and out in less than 4 hours total time including the cooling system burping procedure. I made sure I had plenty of zip ties to replace the old and brittle tie...
Removed and replaced the original alternator that lasted 212,899 miles.
Timing was unfortunate as I had just gotten the cooling system burped after replacing the old thermostat the week before.
TLDR: New thermostat and burping seems to have fixed it.
I spent some time looking things over and recognized that the thermostat housing, driver side hose/radiator never got hot. When the fans turned on the driver side was blowing ambient air temperature. This led me to believe the MotorRad...
Ugh... I completely forgot to mention that it is tuned by AJPTurbo. I'll check if I can find the message traffic and if Brad adjusted fan settings.
In the mean time, I'll check what SHOdded pointed out.
I haven't done any testing outside of listening for fans, visual inspection for leaks/unusual things, and checking codes. Since I wasnt sure if it was unusually high, I didn't want to get too crazy deep in diagnostics.
I know the high speed fan setting runs and I will have to check the low...
Does this coolant temperature seem high for a 2010 SHO with ~211K miles considering the low outdoor temps and 30 mins early AM trip (20ish miles at interstate speeds and .75 miles on surface streets)?
Water Pump and Timing Gear changed February 2021 at ~155K miles.
No signs of leaks, oil...
That upper driver side blend door actuator got me a few times until I claimed warranty and payed extra for the MC version. Though it had a much shorter warranty, I haven't had to change it in a long while now.
I am not, however opposed to non-MC parts.
Damn, dude. That's how I felt when I did my suspension... walk away and give yourself a day or two and you'll be back on it before you know it.
Mine rides and brakes quite well for its age... but given the amount of money dumped into the brakes and suspension it better.
Swapping the suspension out on the 2010 was a huge pain in the butt. Not because it was a hard job but because a number of small things popped up throughout the repairs... ugh... keep pushing my man.
