What are some common problems with the Ford Taurus SHO?

Don't let anyone tell you that rear strut tower bars don't do much...

... I had mine out while installing some junk in the trunk, and let me tell you that rear end wallowed around like a fat old lady's when it wasn't hooked up... I could not believe the way it really tightens up the rear, helping the car corner flatter. I have a lot of other suspension mods, so...

My compressor just went out @104k; looking at ~800 for the job; accumulator needs to be replaced when replacing the compressor, and in my case the lines were pretty well shot, so there's another couple hunnert...yikes! I keep telling myself that no matter WHAT I do, it's still cheaper than...

clutch opinions

DO NOT get a HiRevs Jr, if they are even still available. I'm doing my darndest to burn mine up ASAP, and then I'll get one of those Fibertuff 9-puckers. Most people that have them really seem to like them. I can live with another rattle, what's one more instrument in the symphony? :)

decent low cost performance tire

I like the BFG g-force sports I just put on. They were ~340 a set delivered from discounttire.com in the 225/55/16 size. Good balance of sidewall stiffness and comfort, and they're nicely sticky after warming up.

low squeeking from rear wheels

My 95 does it as well. Nobody that's looked at it can figure out where it's coming from...more or less gave up, now I just make sure the radio drowns it out..
