This is going to be a long post so please bear with me. There are only a couple of good shops out where I live that I’ll entrust my car with. The main shop (Hill Tire) has been very good to me until just recently. I had my struts replaced there a couple of months ago along with a 4 wheel...
Since today seems to my day for asking stoopid questions, I once saw a picture of a SHO that had replaced the blue Ford medallion with one that read Yamaha. Does anyone know where I could get 2 of those?
You might also try looking at your front struts. The fronts are "usually" quite easy to replace. It may take as long as an hour to get both fronts done but well worth the time and effort. Good luck.
I had the same problem with my 92 MTX this past summer. In addition to the clunking sound there was some faint scraping noises going on at slow speeds. Made an arrangement to have the car serviced but later on that day the true problem appeared. My entire front left caliper came off while I was...
I second the idea of replacing both bulbs while you're up there. In my experience, when I've only replaced one part of a pair, the other one goes right away. Take your time and you can manage the change. One important note though. Be very careful when you're placing the new bulb into its socket...
Well, many thanks for the advice/ideas. Just received the price quote for the bulletproof glass. You're right. It's way too expensive and it turns out it wouldn't be anymore resistant to stones than normal glass AND it would be even more expensive to replace/fix. Fine. Looks like its bugshield...
Had an idea some might consider insane. I have to travel/patrol a lot of dirt roads and I am sick and tired of replacing my windshield every year. I thought about using bulletproof glass. I had heard about the problem with the instaclear windshields on the Crown Vics (radar gun won't work) and...
I just had the rear done on my '92 MTX about 2 weeks ago. I thought of doing it myself and actually started. Then it got more complicated than I was willing to chance. Went to a local outfitter in town. They allowed me to watch and participate in the process so I'll know what/how next time. I...
Sorry. Can't help. But if it makes you feel any better, I've got the same situation with both rear doors. And yes, the damage happened when someone slammed the doors on the seatbelt. Let me know if someone comes up with a fix. Thanks.
I'll take 'em!! Please shoot me an e-mail with all the particulars. I've gotta make a run to Vegas for business but I'll attempt to check back here as often as possible. Many Thanks!
I've had some experiences with over torq but the NAPA guy always had the parts I needed. It took him a while to locate them but he had 'em. If your local NAPA guy says he doesn't have 'em, he's just not looking. I'm all the way out in western nebraska so your guy really doesn't have an excuse...
How can/do I replace the buttons on my '92 MTX climate control panel? All the center descriptive words are unreadable. They've all been pushed in. Is this situation normal? I went to my local FoMoCo dealer and was told they could do the job. Luckily, a friend of mine who works there took me...
Thanks to everyone who's taken time out to provide information. Please be advised, I'm sort of new to this whole e-mail thing and quite often my job doesn't allow me to take the necessary time out to maintain comm via e-mail. Be patient with me and I'll respond to all as fast as I can. For...
