hey wasnt there a guy on here with a really cool picture of his speedometer at night...like at stop speed and stuff? It was a really neat picture and I can't find it.
Well i just got my car back from getting the tranny redone...got a trans-go shift kit, new pump shaft and bushing, new torque convertor and various other things...
But now that i have it back it is getting a check engine code...it says "torque convertor clutch performance" or something like...
oh no! haha that doesnt sound good...speaking of tick tick tick
when i open the hood an dlisten there is this ticking noise...it is like 1-2 times a second and it is very consistent...not eratic or anything...just consistently timed ticks. bad? nothing?
seems that now when it is under hard acceleration (3/4 throttle or more it seems) i have to actually let go of the gas or else it doesnt want to shift and it revs up really high

if you look on there it says input shaft...is that the same as the pump shaft? lol i dont know anything about these trannys
oh boy...
i talked to my dad and he said " just let off the gas...don't be so ******* it" but i suppose i should explain to him that this is a little more serious than that...
hopefully he can get this all fixed
what exactly is it about this transmission that goes bad? I know all tauruses...
by the way...it shifts very smoothly normally...you can barely even tell its shifting...no slamming or anything like on my bro's old 93 sho atx when its tranny was goin bad
damn i hope this doesnt cost me an arm and a leg
no clue if the cams are welded...im gonna talk to my dad to see if he will check...i have to replace the coil on cylinder 6...and then i guess i need the pump shaft thingy...do you guys know how much that costs for just parts? my dad does the labor so dont worry aobut that part.
you know i thought i loved football...but now it just reminds me of stupid badly designed dash configurations hahah...well hopefully your prayers are answered man lol
hey guys...well i just picked up a 1998 sho with 103k miles on it. There was a slight transmission fluid leak but my dad (hes a mechanic) fixed the leak and filled up the fluid. So i went out to try her out and realized that when it goes to shift under full throttle it does something...
