Haven’t posted here in awhile but I have some thoughts on this car I wanted to share. I sold my wrx sti over a year ago and was looking for an awd performance car that was a more practical daily driver. I stumbled across a low mileage 2010 Taurus sho and knew what they were but didn’t know...
Took it to another shop that understands these engines better, told them to check it out, but the car never acted up, and when they did their diagnosis the car ran perfectly. Starting to think I’m the problem lmao. Just got it back today no issues, my theory is when we did the plugs and had the...
I swapped coils didn’t change anything, had the injectors looked at he didn’t see anything wrong with them but I could try changing them.

Recently my car has been misfiring on cylinder 1, took it to a shop changed the plugs and reprogrammed the car a few days ago. That fixed it temporarily, the car started misfiring again and I have no clue why. My only guess is something sensor or electronic related. The previous plugs threads...
Turned out to be an AFR issue. The car was reading temps wrong and making cylinder 1 run too rich. Changed the plugs and had the car relearn itself and that seemed to fix it.

I’ve thought about that, I owned a focus st for a while and that had a BOV that made that noise every time I let off. I just assumed that the factory used a bypass valve to keep the boost circulating so I don’t want it to fall out of boost by venting to atmosphere. Not sure if that’s the case...
I haven’t had the chance to mess with it today, but when I drove it today it didn’t have any issue. I’ll look into that and see if that’s causing any issues as well, if the plugs/coil packs don’t resolve it.

Cars got roughly 96k miles, the plugs probably were never changed before, I’ve only owned the car for a few months I had a shop go over the motor and addressed most of the problems with it when I got it. It’s more than likely a coil pack or plugs. I’m just gonna check the plugs and see if they...
Tonight I was sitting in the drive through and all of a sudden the car started shuttering aggressively. The check engine light started flashing and I didn’t know what to do. Then about a minute later it started idling smoothly again and the check engine light turned off. It drove home normally...
Been a couple months since I posted here but I thought I’d share some sound clips of my car. I’ve had it for a few months did all the maintenance and had the car gone over. I installed a roush intake, deleted the 3rd cat, and deleted the rear mufflers. There is some rasp in the rev range but...
I’m looking into making my car louder. It currently has rear mufflers deleted. If I were to delete the 3rd cat would this cause any issues and or require a tune to work?
I’ve considered that, but I’m worried I’ll break something. My dad has told me stories of parking brakes getting stuck due to lack of use. I’ve also never used a pedal e brake. I may try it, but my area is in heat wave so I’ll have to wait for the snow to come back.

I could see different tires making a difference, I’ve had the car for a month and the previous owner put some weird cheap tires on the car. For some reason they also put a single Bridgestone tire on the rear passenger side. As far as gearing I tried some higher speed flicks in a parking lot and...
Interesting, I can’t imagine that the pp would make a difference with the awd power distribution. Unless they changed the haldex system in later year models. I know ford did quite a few tweaks to the SHO platform over the years.
