    Codes P1744 and P0306

I went to the dealer yesterday to see what I would be able to get for the car as a trade in. They offered me $1750 for it. Considering a new transmission would cost somewhere around $2k and the vehicle also needs a full tune up and 100k miles service does this seem like an alright deal? If I...

    Codes P1744 and P0306

Ok, I may end up trying the Lucas transmission treatment and a fluid change just to make the car last a little longer, I really don't have $2k laying around for a new transmission right now. The cams were welded by Rickety Engineering in Ohio at around 70k miles, the interior is very nice and...

    Codes P1744 and P0306

Ok, got it on cyl 6. So a transmission fluid change will not fix the problem but will it make the condition any better in the short term? The car is right at 100k and I don't think it has ever had a transmission fluid change, I have only had it for 4k miles though. Thanks again for the help.

    Codes P1744 and P0306

I cleared out both codes Sunday morning and they haven't come back since. Is this a good sign? Car still idles rough and pulses with the car in drive at a stop. Do you think it would be worth the money to have the transmission fuild changed? Could that make the problem with the transmission...

    Codes P1744 and P0306

Does yours do the pulsing at a stop? Any chance that a transmission flush and change would make the problem go away? Any idea on the tune up cost for new plugs and wires? Thanks a lot for the help.

    Codes P1744 and P0306

Well my 98 SHO with 97,000 just started acting up the other day and threw a couple of codes. The codes are P1744 and P0306. I am thinking that a transmission rebuild and a tune up are in the near future. When the car is in drive and at a stand still it starts idling funny and lunging forward...

    Moog SLO springs

Yes, even though he didn't think it would work I told him to just do the install. To his surprise the struts, strut mounts and springs fit perfectly. Ride height is now level and the car feels great. Now I just have to take care of the rusted out brake lines to get it back on the road :)

Help, Brake Line Leak Driver's Side

Well I talked to the dealership this morning and they said labor would run about $225 to replace all the lines. This seems more than reasonable for that kind of piece of mind. They priced the replacement lines at $147, part number I have is F8DZ-2C287-AA. Does anyone know a place to buy these...

Help, Brake Line Leak Driver's Side

I just got the car a couple of months ago and just dropped about $2000 in it to replace the rear suspension, rack and pinion, brake pads, windshield etc.. so I would like to keep it. Looks like new lines is going to run about $90 and have no idea about the labor costs, the more I read on the...

Help, Brake Line Leak Driver's Side

Yes, it looks like just the bare steel lines running along the side skirts are rusted out, everything else looked ok that was coated in plastic. Perhaps to save a little money I can just replace the ones running along the side skirts. Looks like they would just unscrew and come right out.

Help, Brake Line Leak Driver's Side

Ok, I found a couple of other posts on the brake line replacement. In one thread the poster purchased the Ford replacement lines and stated that it only took 30 min to replace them all. Can anyone confirm this? If I can find the replacement lines which are not that expensive, this sounds like...

Help, Brake Line Leak Driver's Side

Man, I don't think that I have the experience or know how to attempt dropping the fuel tank. Any idea how much a shop would charge for the job if I bought the brake lines? Thanks for the help.

Help, Brake Line Leak Driver's Side

Yep, that looks exactly like what I saw under my car. How time consuming/skilled is the replacement of the lines? I just spent a lot of money getting the suspension and rack and pinion replaced and would like to try to do this myself if its not too hard but I don't have a lift available just...
