Another idea to try
When I was having a simular problem it turned out to be the IAB. I bought a used one on line and the problem got worse so I broke down and got a brand new one. Problem fixed. I'd send mine for you to try but I sold it already. Something to try if the MAF does pan out...
Heating problem too
I had all of the same problems and I live in Houston where it gets veryyyyyy hot. IRCM burnt out. My fan went out and that put an excessive load on the IRCM and melted one of the traces on the circuit board. I drilled out the rivets, opened it up and soldered a new wire...
Fix that oil leak in the spark plug wells. Oil on plugs=misfire. Since you pulled the intake just keep going and pull the valve covers. Search the links for the gaskets and procedure. The bearings are simple to do also. Good luck and enjoy your SHO.
The shiny spot would be right in the middle of the intake on the front runner closest to the front of the car. If you do not have a hood liner then you won't have that. Search the posts for testing motor mounts. If you take the pass side tire off and pull the plastic dust cover off you can...
Thanks. I'm having DIS or cam senor symtoms. I need to run the codes. I get the misfiring (more like studdering) Tach jumps up and down a grand or so, then she clears up and on comes the CE light. I repaced the crank sensor with the water pump and about a year or two ago I changed the cam...
All done. I put in a "racing" type toggle switch that looks like it's cover is made from carbon fiber (auto zone $10). I mounted next to the opening below the CD (or compartment whatever you have) on the left side of the cassette holder. Looks good and works great. It's powered from an...
Thanks all. I had to work late today so I wasn't able to pick up the supplies I need. I'll post how it goes. I was talking to a mechanic friend that had a simular problem with his Ford truck and he did the push button thing in his ashtray. Since I don't smoke I'm thinking of rigging up my...
After a bunch of fixes now I have an overly agressive starter. It's brand new (autozone rebuild #3) and I just put it in. After a short drive at a stop the car just started freaking out. The starter was trying to engage while the engine was running. I quickly shut it off. Then whenever I...
New starter arrived today. After installing it and jumping the batt she fired up. I think I have a electrical gremlin. The ac display blinked on and off and it sounded like the starter was tring to engange. That would explain my last starter being chewed up. I think it's the ignition switch...
Thanks, I went ahead and bypassed the clutch switch. I've been driving standards for over two decades and never needed one. The alarm is a dealer alarm that uses the Ford remotes. The starter/ignition circuit(s) checked out OK. I'm sure the problem was the fried started basicly going to...
I just replaced my water pump last weekend. You shouldn't have to remove the PS just the belt (at least on a 95 MTX). I was doing the CPS so I removed everything including the A/C idler bracket. Did you get the whole pump assembly or just the rebuilt pump half. If your replacing the pump...
cuss Third starter took a dump. Just pulled it off the car and half the teeth are fried. It looks like it locked up last time it started and the flywheel chewed the **** out of it. I'm off to trade it back in for yet another AutoZone rebuild. Hopefuly I'll be running this weekend. thumb
