Oh, and the event confirmation cards - if you registered after the 11th (possibly earlier), you're not getting one !
As of Monday, 14 May 2008, Carlisle stopped mailing the confirmation [post]cards - get this - due to the huge increases in postal costs.

Yup. I'd posted the pre-registration ended a few days ago, probably to make sure they'd get those cards out to everyone in time for their departure.
To those who may have missed that deadline, don't fret. You can register at the gate, as I understand.

I registered early and never got a card (or maybe I through it away thinking it was junk mail 
) When I questioned the customer service she gave me some lame excuse but said that they will have your info at the registration booth. I have a copy of the email conformation so hopefully that will be okay.

Same thing happened to me last year and it was fine. This year I knew I was too late to get a mailed card, but I will bring my email receipt again. Worked last year...

you dont need the confirmation, your name etc will be in their computer.

Mel, I think you misunderstood. Pre-reigstration ended the 21st. They [Carlisle] stopped sending the confirmation cards that were not processed and mailed before May 14th, the day the postal rates increased.
I called and left a message Saturday, since I [had] not received my confimation card - last year I registered by phone after the pre-registration date, but still received a card. I was told that the decision had been made to discontinue mailing confirmation cards, due to the postal rate increases.
I pre-registered, but [apparently] will have to go through the same dog-and-pony show as if I didn't pre-register.
