Don't forget incadescent bulbs dim over time, so it's not nessessarily that the new bulbs are really bright, just that your old bulbs were lacking.

I'm personally not a fan of Silverstars, way over-priced and short life. Sylvania's own Xtravision are actually brighter, way cheaper, and last longer. GE's Nighthawks are better than the Silverstars as well.

I had the H7 silverstars in my fog lights for a while, and i was changing one of them about once a month. I finally went back to a regular H7 about 8 months ago, and havent had a bulb go since.

Interesting, Ive had the Silverstar headlamp bulbs in my '89 for more than 3 years now. LOTS of night driving. No dimming yet, that I can tell....

Ive got the much cheaper high output Sylvania bulbs in my pickup. They seem just as bright.

You can't really tell it's dimming since it happens gradually over time, and it's not restricted to Silverstars only, any incandesent bulb will dim over time.

Dont worry, with as much night driving I do, in both the Powerstroke and the SHO, Id be able to tell. ;) I just dont put up with crappy vision.
