Was visitng South Bend earlier this week and stopped by the Tire Rack and picked up a set of new 17 x 7's with Bridgestone Potenza RE01 R's 225-45-17

Whoa, what a diference ! can't wait for my Qauife install now. They said these are the only DOT legal tires that ever recorded over 1.0 g's on the BMW test mule at the Tire Rack skid pad; almost as good as an R compound but with a smooth and quiet ride. Only $135 highly recommend these !

The RE-01R's are quickly becoming the preferred street class autocross tire locally. Many folks who ran Falken Azenis RT-615's have switched to the RE-01R and are going significantly faster as a result.

I had a set of RE-01R's for autocross and they were simply phenomenal. I almost thought I was on R compounds. Seriously. Their only drawback is they are heavier than most other tires (but this doesn't seem to slow them down), and they have somewhat disappointing grip in wet conditions.
