There are only two seats left for the autocross Saturday, Sept 22 at the Moore Airfeild, Ft Devens/Ayer MA.

Don't miss this treat, ~ 2 mile long course around the whole runway with over 70 turns.

Be nice if more SHOs show up . . . . . Ken and I will be there, and Jeff might bring his SHO.

Zak,

Ian Macoomb form Canadia is expected to be down. I'll shoot him a message to sign up as he is looking forward to auto-x while he is here.

Ahh, sweet. He will likely have his SHOntra as his "Piece of sh|t Gen III" has a blown motor.

Yes, his SHOntra is a force to be reckoned with!

Alos, don't forget folks that following the Auot-X Ken Thompson will be hosting a BBQ weather permitting. Please check in here if you plan on attending!

Yup. I registered last night. I'll be bringing the Sentra most likely. It's POS but it's a small little POS and it runs. And I've got good tires for it. It's actually more fun to auto-x than my POS Gen 3.

Ian, when are you going to be around? Unfortunately, I'm going to be in NYC during the weekend. I wish I could go to the auto-X but I'm already committed...

I was under the impression that the Auto-X started earlier in the morning than before which kind of precluded a breakfast. Anyone know the official starting time? It's not on the NESHOC website or calendar.

For Auto-xers I believe you'll want to be there around 8am ...Ken or zak can give more details. I am thinking breakfast is going to be a negative this time 'round

Folks that have registered to run their cars need to be on site as early as possible. Gate is usually open at 7am. Everyone will be required to sign the waiver sheet before entering the site (insurance requirment).
Folks generally get their cars emptied out, all loose items, beer cans, hoola dolls, spare parts ect.
After the car is cleaned out all participating vehicles most proceed to tech inspection, it will be obvious where this is being done. When your car passes tech you get a colored sticker dot that desigates your run group and will also have your work assignment written on it; flag position 1 for example.
All drivers are required to attend the drivers meeting, this takes place at the timing tent. Everyone should get a chance to walk the course, once that has happened and all course workers are in place its FUN TIME.
I know some here may be running some not but you get the idea of what takes place hopfully by 9:30-9:45 or so. 62 cars registered this time if everyone shows up(a record).
Acually breakfast might be doable for folks that are spectating, In stead of turning left onto Bishop Rd. if you go straight for a 1/4-1/2 mile there is a small diner at the intersection of 2A and 111. Looks like nice weather too :woohoo:

Chris are you running your car? My rescue package from RCM showed up (only $13 additional) and I've got the car mostly apart . . . would love to see more SHOs at these events. zak
PS coming from CT, I usually arrive right a little before 8:30. A full tank of gas gives the SHO more equal weight distribution . . . . .

I get off RT 2 at Fort Devens, probably be there around 8. Depending on whether I need fuel there is a short cut in the back. Green SHO.

Pit crew members welcome to help swap the fronts.

Woot! Looks like I have my SHO in shape to run - still on a "mystery shifter" but now with a rad fan I won't overheat on the grid ;).

Happy to give a ride to any SHOwner with a helmet. I promise you'll be surprised. Look for the white #6. I'll need my last few runs for the standings though, so come early!

To find the place hit google maps, look for Bishop Rd in Ayer MA, and turn on the hybrid mode. You'll then be able to see the airfield and the back way into it.

See you there!

What the ****, I know the directions cold.

From route 2, take rt110/111 North to rotary, 2-3 miles. Watch speed limit.
From route 495, take rt 2A West to rotary, 4-5 miles. Watch speed limit.
From rotary, take 2A/111 West that is next turn after McDonalds.
Mile or two into Ayer center. Keep it slow.
Turn right on rt2A/111 across from Mobil. Still slow.
Half mile or so, turn left on Bishop Rd (look for big power substation at corner)
A little over a mile on Bishop Rd the road takes a 90 left, you turn right and
bear right onto dirt road, up to gate.

I mention speed because there are those that would prefer we did not have
this perfect motorsport site. We don't want to lose it over nuttiness. When
you see the site, especially if you take a ride, you'll understand why we value it so.
Where else can you take *any* car and safely wring out all it has to
give? Legally?

Mention NESHOC to the gate person, sign waiver, pull in and park to the right.
Make sure it's an empty spot as this is the race paddock and we all empty our
gear while we at tech or driving our cars.

Bring food/water/sunscreen but no drugs, alcohol, or open fires (house rules, sorry).
And a Snell rated helmet, although passengers can sometimes sneak through with
a DOT. Not the skull cap token helmets though!

See you there!
- Jeff

Hey Jim, I totally missed your post. I'm trying to get out of work ASAP on Friday but it's not looking so good. I've got a meeting scheduled till 3. The plan is to get out of work and drive down to Bedford, Mass and stay at the Travelodge there. If I get out of work early I might go for food or drinks or both with Chris. The plan is to head back on Sunday afternoon.
