Are 2010-2012's suddenly becoming the redheaded stepchild for tuning?

I sent a very detailed inquiry about purchasing a tune/tuner via the contact link on a reputable tuners website. After 3 days of no response, I sent off an email and still after 2 days now nothing but crickets. I sent off an email to another tuner that offers HP Tuners (you can probably figure out who that is lol) and got a nice response within about 30 minutes I believe. As a tuner, I guess if I was in the position to pick and choose if I wanted to steer clear of the 2010-2012's with the now documented problems with SCT Tuners I'd probably do so myself too. But I'm just surprised at the total lack of any communication.

The cars use mostly the same components outside of the interior. I wonder how much work it would be to swap electronics to make it think its a 2015 or so. And still keep all the dash working as a 2011.
Gauges probably wont be plug and play anymore but nothing a custom can-bus cant fix.
Or find a cheap 2013...

I'm sticking with my 2012 for the long haul. I've done the water pump thing, new Caitlyn Jenner 5,000 miles ago and am going to be spending some money coming up here on body damage from hitting a wolf. Yes you read that right, I bet I'm the only member here that has hit a wolf with their SHO! My wife has a 2014 SEL and I just like almost everything about the 2010-2012 cars better. I've stayed on top of the PTU and if (when) the turbos take a shiite I'll upgrade. I don't want to buy someone else's mess at this point and roll the dice.

Or you could go to Yellowstone and come up on one with your snowmobile. It gets your attention real quick. Especially since there was a guy in my hometown that was killed that way a few years prior.

I started a thread about that in general discussion when I was beginning to start my modding. New software revisions this year(epa updates) have caused the pcm to lock up on some folks. It'll totally remove the vin forcing you to tow it the dealer to reload stock software. From what I heard sct was good at reimbursement for costs afterward but what pain.

Ive also heard about it bricking cars. I have a friend with a 010 and its hard to him to find a tuner now. I guess most dont want to mess with 10-12 models anymore. Time to do an old fashion tune to them... shove a 406 stroker in it. Always a way around it

Yeah I guess they better reimburse that’s nuts! Hopefully that doesn’t happen to me. Sounds like I shouldn’t update unless I need to.

Who loads those software revisions (EPA updates)? Want to make sure I stay away from it.

I have found that if the device continues to flash, there is zero reason to update the device. I dont even update the LiveLink, and keep all wifi enabled **** turned off.

The old "X3- SCT" is the unit to use with the 10-12 pcm. I was one of the first to brick ( 3 times towed and factory flashed) and still have not heard anything back from them.... I bought a used X3 and had Gearhead swap the serial number over in the tune and took the leap of faith and won. Now my Livewire ts is just a $600 gauge cluster.....

The only thing I like more about the 13+ is the tail lights, got to admit they are a lot cooler. Otherwise I like my 12, I like the dash, I like the seats (as long as they keep working) and I just spent $4000 to fix the steering and a few other items so I'm in it for the long haul. It does kind of **** though the 13+ computer seems to be easier to work with.
