I've spotted a '15 PP that i am very interested in, looks good, only 34k miles. What are some things i can look for to ensure peace of mind/i'm getting a good car before i pull the trigger? Or for that matter, some things that would deter me from buying?

If it has the rear sunshade, make sure that works. When you go look at it, let it just sit there idling for 5-10 minutes to make sure it doesn't start smoking. Check the engine bay to make sure it isn't filthy, and look around for obvious signs of fluids leaking. I always turn the video camera on my phone on and stick it under the car to look for any leakage on the transmission and PTU.

When you test drive it, go slowly with the wheels fully turned in each direction to make sure they don't make a clicking noise or feel like it is binding. Ask to see the car fax. If it doesn't have regular oil changes I usually move on.

Generally speaking;
No steering wheel pulling (when cruising or braking), no grinding noises, no odd shifting patterns, no misfiring cylinders, no burn fluid smells (oil, trans, power steering, etc.).

Check tire wear, seat wear, and that all accessories work.

SHO specific; there will be more knowledgeable people on this as well but I would see if they've had any of the fluids changed (PTU & RDU specifically)... Most likely they haven't.

and look at VIN check - and body/paint for previous damage. In fact, pay a good mechanic to look at it for signs of damage, major replacement parts etc

Also, how handy are you? You may want to consider an extended FORD warranty for powertrain just before the original one expires. (online discounters are posted on this board) I never recommend them except for this model ---alot of extra complexity TT and AWD systems to look after

Owner has clear title in hand in their name that can be signed over. Plates are actually on the car and current and are correct according to the registration, the car hasn't been moved between states without explanation, it passes state inspection and emissions tests and no check engine light with "it's just a sensor", because they would have replaced just a sensor.

You will see many cars with these "red flags" when shopping.

Maybe I should've advertised my wife's 13' SHO on here. It did have 93k miles on it, but never had any issues. We have one child moved out and the other on his way. So, we traded for something smaller with similar power, Genesis G70. Well, she loves the G70, but misses her awd, much larger, Taurus SHO.

What do you presume this indicates?

I have noticed in mine a slight grind from time to time with a full lock on the wheel. Couldn’t see any obvious problem.

Thanks. Ok definitely not that. Don’t know if that’s good or bad. Mine is more of a slightly grinding whurr. Ford replaced my left side CV when they couldn’t get the seal to stop leaking. And it still happens both directions, not every time though.
