$800 for the magnaflow system is an awesome price! If I could have gotten it for that price I would have bought it instead of the OBX all day! I plan on putting cut outs in for the track. I don't mind cutting up the $700 obx. I definitely wouldn't do it with one of the more expensive systems? Do you know what the id of the magnaflow system? I know it says it's 2 1/2" but I wonder if that's id or od. The obx is 2 3/8" id and 2 1/2" od. That's why I want to put the cut outs in right after the dp's end.

So, after a couple weeks I'm slightly disappointed in the drone I'm experiencing at 75-80 mph! Does anyone have any "CHEAP," suggestions to help eliminate this drone!?

Put a high flow resonater in it. The V6 cars have them for a reason. I am going to do DPs and just magnflow mufflers on mine.

BUMP! Any other suggestions? I'm going to my local custom exhaust shop tomorrow and I'm confident with these guys but suggestions from this community is like gold! The drone is killing me on the Magnaflow cat-back! Should I replace the center Magnaflow muffler/resonator and use something else or keep it like it is and add a resonator? If I add one is it actually 2 resonators I need to add??

I don't want to touch the rear mufflers - they look good and the 4" tips look great. Thank you for any help!!!

Just put a Magnaflow resonator in it. If you dont like it, get it removed and I will buy it from you.

You say "a" resonator as in one? There's 2 pipes going back to the mufflers - do I need 2 resonators for each pipe? Or do I take the big middle one out? Isn't the middle one a resonator though? Sorry - I know nothing about the exhaust obviously!

The resonator is the dual "muffler" that the DP's tie into. Resonators take away the wrasp and drone.

My exhaust shop & Magnaflow recommend replacing the center muffler from the 14" one that comes with the cat back system to a 18" or even possibly a 22" long unit. if I do this, do you want to buy the original 14" one? Part # 11386.

I don't know what your goal is but that is the route I went and I am very satisfied. The PPE pipes are almost a work of art, they will last longer then the car. I recommend opting for the powder coating, I used to burn my Dads grass now I can park in the yard with no problem. I did a pretty detailed review on another thread but if you have any questions just ask. Biggest plus you get NO error codes.

Mind posting a link to your review. DP's are next on my list.

I read your other post. I see you spent $1,400 on the DP's with install. With that kind of money I suggest you "finish," your exhaust. What I mean by that is you are not getting the full benefit of that system leaving the small constrictive stock exhaust system on the car. You need a Cat-back system to realize full potential of those DP's.

With respect I don't agree, I did a lot of reading on this and the general consensus is the choke point is the DP's not the exhaust. In fact a lot people did not see a noticeable increase in power with aftermarket exhaust short of a cut out. I read your post, I believe you when you say your car is quicker but in most cases the numbers are just not there. Bottom line I like my car now, its never going to sound as good as my push rod Mustang, and I do not want a drone. I may do an exhaust at some point. I'm always tempted but I don't think its going to help my performance.

I agree, the choke point the DP's. Even LMS says too. I would remove the 3rd cat and put in large restonator from Magnaflow and be done. Full DP and back exhaust systems on the SHO sound like junk, and dont have any performance additions either.

Not to step on any ones toes but I been thinking that could be up to debate. Seems like the fastest SHO's ive seen has full exhaust. I think the system as a whole might help as a guy on youtube just dyno'ed his SHO with full exhaust and picked up almost 50 hp..im sure that didn't come from just downpipes.. Someone correct me if i'm wrong. As with some others; I haven't added that to mine because i'm not sure I want the extra noise as it will never sound like my V8. Just a thought....
