I was really interested in the genesis untill I listened to the audio at the auto show. Lots of treble. Not much bass.

The Sony system isn't impressive either. I'd most likely be upgrading the stereo in whatever I get next.

I typically by used so I'll be a few years behind but the Kia Stinger might be a contender, although I haven't sat in let alone driver one. Those 10 spd auto Mustang GTs may convince me to forget four doors and AWD though.

I just saw an article that said 68% of new car sales for the 1st quarter in the US were light trucks,(this includes SUVs).

The sho is good enough for me. I can feel my music suficently, although I wish the subs were more like the MKS. Oh well.

Talking about those Stingers, my son had one trying to play with him in his GTI and he told me it wasn't impressive. Now he is running Meth and a tune on his, so that may have played a part lol. There was one at a car show and he checked it out, says it has a lot of plastic interior pieces. Thought the SHO was much better put together, inside and out.

Haven't been close enough to even look inside one but the TTV6 models have broken into the 12s trapping over 110 stock and there are tunes available.

I got my '18 SHO in December...and now with the salt off the roads, it's my daily. (My '06 Lincoln went to a new home)

Part of the reason I bought now was because there's really no other car that interests me...and I figure the Taurus isn't going to be around long. I made the same move in 2005 with my Excursion...and I turned out to be correct.

I'm really pleasantly surprised with the SHO. Plenty of power, quiet, comfortable...well equipped. I had never driven one before ordering mine so it was a bit of a leap of faith. The THX sound system in the Lincoln was incredible, but to my ears...this Sony system is just fine, too.

I'd have no interest in a modern import. In my younger days I had a Supra....but there's nothing modern that interests me. I'm the President of a local Mopar club and find nothing in those lines that I like enough to buy. I'd buy a Mustang over a Challenger. (A previous daily driver was a 2003 Cobra.)

You will never see the Chinese version....unless you go to China. There were no plans to bring it here. The 2019 Taurus will be the same one we have now. The 2019 Ford Taurus Order Guide will be released to Dealers on or about the date that the USOB (Unscheduled Order Bank) opens. 2019 will likely be the last of the Taurus.

  • 06/11/2018 - 2019MY Order Bank Open Date
  • 07/19/2018 - 2019MY Scheduling Begins
  • 09/10/2018 - 2019MY Job #1 Date
If they are importing sedans already, I see no reason why the Taurus wouldn’t be considered

I saw an article on Motor Trend today that said the 2019 Taurus would end production in March 2019.

It's been known since inception that the China market Taurus was not coming to America. That Taurus was designed almost expressly for that market, where folks with some coin have private drivers, but don't want to look too ostentatious...a big Ford sedan allows this while a Lincoln doesn't.

"Ford doesn’t offer a timeline for when the C-Max, Fiesta, Focus, Fusion, and Taurus will leave the U.S. market. However, in the financial report, Ford says, “For example, by 2020, almost 90 percent of the Ford portfolio in North America will be trucks, utilities, and commercial vehicles.” That’s relatively soon. If you want a Ford sedan, now’s your chance to buy one."
