You will never see the Chinese version....unless you go to China. There were no plans to bring it here. The 2019 Taurus will be the same one we have now. The 2019 Ford Taurus Order Guide will be released to Dealers on or about the date that the USOB (Unscheduled Order Bank) opens. 2019 will likely be the last of the Taurus.

  • 07/19/2018 - 2019MY Scheduling Begins
  • 09/10/2018 - 2019MY Job #1 Date

Or, they will continue producing the Taurus as-is for a while. CAFE standards may be relaxed (while the "green" states fight it), the Taurus is currently produced inside the country, etc.

From what I hear continental is done 2019. The Chinese Taurus is based on the continental so there is no chance for the U.S.A. getting that body for a 1 m.y. run. There is no money in it.

We will either get the same Taurus as the run it out like the panther platform or it will die for the more desirable S.U.V.

Maybe we can buy a R.W.D. Bronco Raptor?

I would have gone for a Continental, actually, if it wasn't for the butt-ugly nose. ;)

Well, maybe not - I do like the Taurus. At least now, I know I have a chance to order a 2019 before my 2016's lease is up next March.

My sources tell me that the current FWD based Continental will be replaced by a new RWD based Continental - platform CD6. That was the plan all along....they just didn't have a suitable RWD platform at the time the current Conti was introduced. The new Lincoln Aviator will be on the RWD CD6 platform as well. It will be the basis for the next Continental and MKZ replacement as well as the Explorer. The Continental will likely get suicide doors according to what dealers have been told.

Thanks for this info, I wasn’t aware there was a 2019 release scheduled. Do you think the 2019’s might not sit so long wheress this will be the last year produced into the foreseeable future? Thank you

I just found this.... WTH !

(Reuters) - General Motors Co will stop production of its subcompact Chevrolet Sonic by as early as this year, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing people familiar with the matter.

While GM is also planning to discontinue Chevrolet Impala in the next few years, Ford Motor Co will stop making the Fiesta small car for the U.S. market by as early as next year, and discontinue the Taurus sedan, the Journal reported.

The move comes at a time when U.S. consumers are increasingly shunning passenger cars in favor of more comfortable sport utility vehicles (SUVs) and pickup trucks.

Ford executives are still considering the future of Fusion cars, the report said.

General Motors declined to comment, while Ford was not immediately available for comment.

Ford has been saying this for a few years now, anyone knows how truthful this last announcement could be?

Americans love affair with SUVs is back in full swing after being derailed by the recession and high gas prices. High volume cars like the Fusion and the new Accord are continuing to slow in sales. And upmarket sedans like Audi, BMW are losing market share to luxury trucks.

If Taurus does go away for US Models.......You can most likely find me at the Dodge Charger booth....just saying.....I am Texas now so not as worried about the Rear wheel Drive.

If I wasn't so hard headed Ford loyal, I would be right there with you. Although, the future of that model is also a bit murky.

Honestly with the issues my friends have had with their Dodge's I'd not go that direction, but that's just me.

I just looked up the G models online and just not that impressed. Not real aggressive-looking, almost look like a Toyota or a Chrysler. Just my little opinion. But no doubt they're nice cars!

Maybe it was G80.

As far as styling, meh..... true and on point.

I will report though that one of my coworkers has an earlier Genesis model, loaded to the gills and it's sharp.

We purchased a used 2015 Hyundai Sonata Limited w/18k on the odometer for the wife last year, after youngest was involved in an accident with the 2005 Nissan Altima Limited, and the Hyundai's have come a long way. She absolutely loves the car, and couldn't be happier.

Given the apparent trends with American auto mfger's retreating from the car market, in exchange for way over priced truck models, for those still interested in sedans/cars, this may be a viable option.

From a LEO perspective, I like the fact that Hyundai stamps the VIN #'s on like every major component of the car, thus deterring theft, chop shop's using them etc.
